Can I blame it on the 'wild-international-bug'? (in part it was because of it, since my life has been quite messy due to it) Anyway, while I was picking up today's book (it's <i>The Thursdays Murder Club</i> by Richard Osman, which so far has been quite fun) I thought about how I got to know this book because of Booktok (funny, because I don't really have a TikTok account)/Bookgram/Booktube/Goodreads mentioning it a lot. I've been thinking a lot about how these social media platform have exploded the art of reading during the pandemic. Not that these didn't exist before it, but I believe it's changing the game for marketing and recommendations, especially towards younger generations. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">I've obviously seen good and bad recommendations appearing. There's a certain type of book, depicting rather toxic relationships based on fanfiction that tens to get way more attention than they should. But I've also seen really good books that got shadow-banned in the past jumping into the front row and providing writers a second change that rarely appears in the editorial world. There's also really good book-influencers who have taken their time not only to review books, but also to talk about important issues that connect books and our daily lives. While it's usually scoffed about, pop culture is very well connect with the lives of those who consume it and important lessons can be learnt from it. For those from Portuguese-speaking countries (or those who know Portuguese), I recommend you Elga's project <a href="https://quemmelera.pt/" target="_blank">Quem Me Lera</a>, since she reviews and discusses many of these issues at her blog and instagram. And with a different tone, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/thejackexperience">Jake Edwards</a> iconic reviews are hard to pass - I love how he dissed celebrities book tastes and even got one really annoyed by it. </p><p></p><div style="text-align: justify;">Nonetheless, I've seen others - and experiencing it my self - some kind of pressure regarding the number of books I've read in a year and how long it takes. It's this silent competition no one started but somehow we all in it. And once we get caught on it, it's really hard to get out. This is my reminder to be kind to yourself and read what, how and when makes you feel good. I have a friend who says she is never alone when reading a book and I wholeheartly agree with her. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you were looking for a review on the book I might do it next week, or another. Basically when I finally finish it and decide to post about. </div><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I guess I'm back to this corner. Now let's try to keep me here a bit more, shall we? </p>Dianahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08412397506103015145noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1398724347718724276.post-53611787010604713402019-03-25T08:30:00.000+00:002019-03-25T08:30:03.585+00:00Carry On | A Book Review and more <center>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
<br /><div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been thinking about writing about this blog for quite some time. But after this week's revelation (I'll talk about it later) I thought "okay...it's now or never". I got this book last year for my birthday and I committed a small sin: I read this before reading <i>Fangirl</i>. But let me tell you: it was worth it. Like really worth it!</div>
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So in case you don't know, <i><b>Carry On</b></i> is written by Rainbow Rowell (from <i>Fangirl</i>, <i>Elanor & Park</i>, <i>Landline</i> and she is also currently working on a comic book series with Marvel as well I believe!) and is a follow up book to <i>Fangirl</i>. In <i>Fangirl</i> we are introduced to the world of Simon Snow and Baz, where they appear as altered version of the <i>Harry Potter</i> series (I'll get back to that). After the success of her previous book, Rowell apparently couldn't let go of Simon Snow and ended up writing this marvellous book. (In case you are wondering how we know it, it is stated at the end of the book. At least in my version) </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The summary, via <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25350996-carry-on" target="_blank">goodreads </a>is as it follows</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">Simon Snow just wants to relax and savour his last year at the Watford School of Magicks, but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a pest and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe he'll be safe. Simon can't even enjoy the fact that his room-mate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he can't stop worrying about the evil git. Plus there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down. When you're the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to relax and savour anything.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you'd expect from a Rainbow Rowell story - but far, far more monsters.</span></blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgma3qsHx_KsMF0vfpvNNScn2oo-097YT-jP9VkFSGZgK6kr93gANnCLvUO0YYjlCV3F7uYkpvNvw1nzrb2Rq7oUsj-df8JtzU98IbkGZaPwnLUNw46UMI-zmbyHKO1W7mEwAiLIbWtr8iU/s1600/CarryOne_Rainbow_Rowell_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="880" data-original-width="750" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgma3qsHx_KsMF0vfpvNNScn2oo-097YT-jP9VkFSGZgK6kr93gANnCLvUO0YYjlCV3F7uYkpvNvw1nzrb2Rq7oUsj-df8JtzU98IbkGZaPwnLUNw46UMI-zmbyHKO1W7mEwAiLIbWtr8iU/s1600/CarryOne_Rainbow_Rowell_2.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Okay, before I start my breakdown on the book I have to say: I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did. Seriously, it was one of the best books I've read this year (probably only surpassed by Sarah J. Maas's <i>A Court of Thorns and Roses</i> series) without much thought. And I am so HAPPY that Rowell will be launching another volume about Simon Snow at the end of this year. (It's meant to be launched in September...my birthday month!! I guess we all know what that means...)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The world building</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
One of the things I really expected was to see this world as wild version of the Harry Potter series. To my delight, it is not. The world of Mages has his own rules, pace and scenario. They work with technology and they do depend on people without magic to keep their magic well - that was really interesting in my opinion. I could see how Rowell wanted to created another fantastic world instead of just mirroring one that was already existing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The character development</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Simon needs love. I can't explain how I felt every time he or someone else would mention how his Summer was and thin he would appear at school - I wanted to punch the Mage at least 50 times because of that. Simon didn't had the same support system Harry had (no Weasley's here...). I felt like he was pushed into doing things he never wanted to - hi Penelope, looking at you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Speaking of Penelope...I still don't know how I feel about her. She came across really pushy way to many times. There was a particular scene were she got angry because Simon did not tell her someone she did not need to know, since it wasn't really related to her but to Baz, ans I hated her reaction. I don't fully dislike her but....I don't like her either. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Baz was the revelation to be honest. Once his POV started to appear I wouldn't stop reading the book. From the end of chapter 32 I had to read the rest of the book due to my excitement. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Overall, I gave this book a 5 starts rating at goodreads and I can't wait to get the second volume with me <strike>(which I'll have to get as a hardcover, otherwise my OCD is going nuts...oops)</strike>. It was a really fun reading and colides both contemporary YA with a bit of Fantasy YA. </div>

<center style="text-align: justify;">
Okay I admit it: I wasn't expecting to spend to much money this month but...it just happens. Although I can happily say that I ended up spending less since I was able to grasp a few reward money and deals. Also, most of these are backups I needed because the products I have on rotation at the moment are used up. (yes this is me trying to convince myself that it's okay)<br />Most of my purchase was skin care. A mixture of both French Pharmacy and The Ordinary. And two bits from NYX. I also got myself a moisturiser from the Alex Steiner X Primark line and I am currently waiting for a huge order of books - yes...I am back at buying books. Guess I'll have to buy another shelving uni soon, uh?<br /><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

"From Paris with Love"</center>
</h3>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
From the French Skincare department I got these 4 bits. I got <b>Avéne's Cleanance Hydra</b> cleanser, since my current cleanser from The Body Shop is almost empty. I almost bought Cerave's hydrating cleanser but I am happy to say that this actually very similar to that and it's super gentle, while also leaving my skin fresh and clean! Also from Avéne, I got their <b>Cold Cream Lip Balm</b>. For the past weeks my lips have been really chapped due to weather change (I'm kinda allergic to that apparently?) and this totally saved them! I'll be repurchasing this in the future.</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
After delaying for the longest time, I finally got the <b>La Roche-Posay Serozinc</b> spray! I love to wear this in the morning and after applying makeup and I've noticed how this helps with my hormonal spots and keeping my makeup looking fresh. And because my current eye cream is pretty much gone, I repurchase the <b>La Roche-Posay Toleraine Ultra</b> as an eye cream. I love it specially for the spring time where pollen and other nasty dusts usually make my eyes super puffy and hurt. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></center>
<h3>
<center>
Ordinary and yet Important </center>
</h3>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also ended up placing an order at Beauty Bay filled with The Ordinary Goodies. It started with me wanting to repurchase <b>The Odinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA</b> as my night moisturiser. It is a simple moisturiser that makes me wake a really glowing and moisturised. I also repurchased <b>The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5</b> because it is the best hyaluronic acid serum I've tried considering it's price point. Alongside with the moisturiser, it makes my skin free of dry patches and any weird texture. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The new kid on the block is <b>The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%</b>, which I'll be using as my day time serum. I got this after seeing how much <a href="http://www.coquetteaportuguesa.com/" target="_blank">Jael from Coquete à Portuguesa</a> loved it and because I wanted something extra for my day time routine. I am yet to try it so I don't have an opinion about it so far. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisc4vgoknY_2yXVRXe_EdKb8d9SzLDgZvgekWslsE_RE-nz8pYFOZbh3nSDp__3ajc8UxHRod4egdv_NZ2d9o3TygZE2AHt65QnQ2PVgVxvEFX533WmKzO3PBFOyq6osxBnLvCCP00HRvF/s1600/BigHaul3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="946" data-original-width="750" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisc4vgoknY_2yXVRXe_EdKb8d9SzLDgZvgekWslsE_RE-nz8pYFOZbh3nSDp__3ajc8UxHRod4egdv_NZ2d9o3TygZE2AHt65QnQ2PVgVxvEFX533WmKzO3PBFOyq6osxBnLvCCP00HRvF/s1600/BigHaul3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"More makeup? Yeah kinda"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Probably the last thing I need is makeup but, all of these have a good reason. Starting with <b>The Ordinary's High-Spreadability Fluid Primer</b>, since I was looking after a new primer. I mean, I still love my beloved Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot primer but I've been feeling my skin changing and wanting different products. I also want to test how this goes alongside a foundation like Fenty Beauty's. I've worn this once I really love the look and touch it gave to my skin although...it appeared to leak a bit? It was a bit strange and I need to try it out more for sure. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To finish off my Beauty Bay haul, I finally got <b>The Ordinary's Serum Foundation</b> in the shade 1.1 N. I heard it's a really lightweight foundation - Ruth from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGj6o_0Sqjs" target="_blank">A Model Recommends</a> described it as a tinted moisturiser kind of product - and that's what I was looking after. I still love to wear my Fenty foundation for big events and such but I wanted something more natural for when I have classes and other earthly events. I've worn it once and I really liked it! Although I still want to used it more before reviewing it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also ended up going to NYX's store after reading <a href="http://www.coquetteaportuguesa.com/2019/03/os-mais-amados-de-fevereiro.html" target="_blank">Jael's Favourites Blog Post</a> to pick up these two goodies. (actually I picked 3, but the third one is for my friend) The <b>NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer</b> was a really nice discovery and surprise! I am proud to say that my beloved Makeup Revolution concealer has found it's match. This ended up looking more yellow than what I was expecting but somehow it helps with concealing the purple of my dark circles. And lastly but not least, I got my self a mini <b>NYX HD Finishing Powder</b> because I wanted to get a new powder to have on my makeup bag but I didn't want to get anything big or overly expensive. For 3,5€ this does the job and I am now temped to get the Banana powder version to try out as well.<br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />Having this said, I also ended up ordering a few books from Bookdepository. I've been reading more lately and I'll probably take a week this month to post a few reviews here as well. <strike>Spoiler alert: the ACOTAR saga is coming. </strike><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
Have you bought any of these products? </div>

Yes yes! I am finally back at writing about makeup! Today I felt like sharing what have been my favourite makeup bit at the moment. I thought about making wither a 2018 favourites post or a January/February favourites post but neither felt right. So I went for this! Specially because I am planning to do a few reviews on some of these items and new skincare routine posts in the future (with an upcoming haul on its way!)</center>
<center>
I haven't been wearing much makeup, apart from when I have classes or when I meet one of my friends. I have been going for the same type of look: simple, warm shadow on the lids. Occasionally I had a bit of eyeliner and always nude lipstick. </center>
<center>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /><div style="text-align: justify;">
There are day when I want nothing more than just a bit of colour on my lids and run to get the bus. I'll always start by using the <b>Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Shadow</b>, because otherwise no eyeshadow will look good. I am so happy I decided to do the investment and get this guy last year. As a wash of colour, I've been loving the <b>Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in La La</b>, which is a lovely Cooper Brown shade with golden reflexes and <b>Weenie</b>, which is a more Red-Brown. I love to blend these all over my lids and I am seriously thinking about getting more shades on my next colourpop haul! </div>
</center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For eyeliner, I've been playing with the <b>NYX That's the Point hella fine eyeliner </b>and although I like it very much has been a favourite, I have to admit that I don't see my self repurchasing it once it's done. To be hones, as soon as I finish it, I'll be back to my beloved Clio Kill Black eyeliner (which costs practically the same). On my under eye area, I've been loving the <b>NYX Faux Whites in Mintcream</b> and I've been thinking about getting either the pink or the lavanda version in a near future. This eyeliner gives a really bright effect, making my eyes seem bigger (which is appreciated, specially when I haven't been able to sleep that well...)</div>

That is why<b> Colourpop's Give it To Me Straight palette</b> has been a ultimate favourite since I got it. I love the really warm shades like <i>Candid</i>, <i>Be Blunt</i> and <i>TMI</i> and how compact this palette is, alongside the really pleasent eyeshadow formula. I am seriously thinking about picking up another of these palettes in my next colourpop haul! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for blush, although I've been switching around my collection, the one I've been picking up a lot it <b>Benefit's Rockateur</b>. It is a gorgeous Burnt Rose blush, which although it might sem odd, it really goes with most of my looks without making me seem strange or weird - specially If I go for a more colourful look. I hope they don't discontinue it!<br />And for lipstick, I've been sticking up for this lovely <b>Makeup Revolution x Soph Lipstick in Fudge</b>. It's a gorgeous brown nude shade that goes with everything and has been providing some 90's vibes I really enjoy. The formula is super comfortable and I want to pick up the other shades before someone decided to discontinue it (please don't!! They are amazing!!) </div>

<center>
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I guess the title of this post, alongside my recent shift on my instagram feed already gave away the topic of today's post. Although I've been into makeup, skin care and beauty in general, the one thing I really want and I feel I should write about is self-care. Mostly because it's what I've been preaching and practising for this month. Life can be a total mess, an active volcano that spits dragons at every five minutes ...but that does not mean that we shouldn't take at least 20 minutes every night or a whole afternoon to take care of ourselves. </center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This mindset probably comes from the fact that I've been really curious about the Hygge lifestyle and I've recently read a book that described it in a very simple way - so simple that made me rethink some of my life choices and how I was embracing things. Simple things like drinking a good cup of tea and reading a book that I love every night before bed have been so simple and so nurturing at the same time. I still want to read <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30045683-the-little-book-of-hygge?ac=1&from_search=true" target="_blank">The Little Book of Hygge : The Danish Way</a> to life well, alongside other lifestyle book (like the one about Ikigai, lagom and Lykke)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I believe that most of us have this idea that taking time for ourselves is either selfish or a waste of time. It's neither. It's about nurturing ourselves and recharge our soul-batteries in order to face our tasks and challenges. It's about finding inner-peace when the world is always raging everywhere at any given time.<br />
<br />
Self-care is probably one of the most important things we can do. It's more than okay to stop and take care. So, take care of yourself! Read that book that you love, take that long bath that you've been wanting to do. Drink that good cup of tea, do that spa session at home that you've been wanting and dreaming about. Because no one can operate non-stop. There used to be a milk advertisement growing up that said "if I don't love myself, who will?" And in today's environment, that's more important than what we realise.<br /><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
What do you think about the concept of self-care? </div>
</div>

<center>
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, I know...things got a bit out of hand.<br /><br />I was meant to have at least 3 posts online by now but life caught up and....that did not happen. My second semester started early because my faculty is trying out this new calendar thing and...it's a mess. Needless to say, that changed my plans from night to day. I already have a tone of workload to fulfil plus my regular research as I am writing my dissertation. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
If that was not enough, I had a few "bad days" by the end of January because of tough calls I had to make regarding my life at the end of 2018. That kinda placed me in a mood where writing about hair masks and face serums wasn't something I was going to do. Luckily, I can say that it is finally behind me and I plan to work things out. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
On the bright side, I've spend a lot of my time reading books. I mean, I do read but I've been reading more consistently since the year started. The highlights are <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25350996-carry-on" target="_blank">Carry On by Rainbow Rowell</a>, which depicts the really cute story of Simon Snow (who appears as a fictional character in Rowell's Fangirl and I am yet to read...<strike>Yes I tend to do things my way </strike>) and <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22839894-a-court-of-thorns-and-roses" target="_blank">A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas</a>. I am currently reading the second book, <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23766623-a-court-of-mist-and-fury" target="_blank">A Court of Mist and Fury</a> and....OH MY GOD! I wasn't expecting to be so hooked into this characters like I am right now! I am glad that I waited to get the three volumes at once, but I can already imagine myself sweating over the other volumes she is about to release (another 3 if I am not mistaken, and I still to need to get the novella she already released). Needless to say, reading has been my escape from what might torment my mind.<br /><br />As for music...I've been mostly into KPOP as always. Although Bring me to Horizon released their new album AMO and sadly...the only two songs I liked are their singles <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAXg78MKJcM" target="_blank">Mantra</a> and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MocF43ncu8I" target="_blank">Medicine</a>. As for KPOP, I've been loving <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvhpjERxJlQ" target="_blank">CLC's No</a> - which is the bomb! - and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LCGn9UFNAY" target="_blank">Cherry Bullet's Q&A</a> (on the cute side). </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
As for Tv Shows, I've been watching a few Netflix show's at the beginning of the year. Marie Kondo's show was for sure the most inspirational, since I am to this day trying to figure out a better way of getting myself organised and having my room sparking joy (which is very much needed, since I spend a lot of time working here...) I guess there will be another IKEA trip coming soon! (my dad is going to kill me)</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I've also been writing on my bullet journal and I am thinking about getting another one, but for other type of writing. I've been keeping my planning simple and I am yet to write a post about it, mostly because I am still working my style out and trying to figure out what works or not for me. (but It's something I really want to share for sure). </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
As for future posts...there's at least one coming out soon. And if you've read this ramble until the end, thank you very much! </center>

</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Now that I am finally resuming my regular schedule, I want to start by sharing some of my recent purchases, alongside some of my Christmas gifts (because there's no point in making a different post). I've received mostly money, which I ended up using on my room renovation. (I can't believe I finally have a bookshelf that works for my needs!) I also went to Primark but I am still debating on whether I'll be sharing that particular Haul or not. (any thoughts?)</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
<b>The Bullet journal</b></center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'll start by talking about my recent pride and joy: my Tiger Bullet Journal! I've been wanting one of these for the longest time, but they were really hard to find here (most notebooks only have lined, blank or grid paper and I really wanted doted) and whenever I did the price point was way too high. On a recent trip to Tiger I saw this and decided that it was a "now or never" type of situation. I had completed my Happy Planner and wasn't really keen on spending another 20 to 30€ on a planner at the moment. The bullet journal will help me to stay on track and to spread my wings in terms of creativity. I've started to fill it and although not everything is rainbows and sunshine, I've decided to see this as a process. Things aren't always as pretty as we see on blogs, pinterest and instagram. Mistakes happen and that's okay. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am planning to write more about my bullet journey on the blog, specially since I also ordered a pack of Zebra Mildliners and I am contemplating ordering a few stickers and washi tape in the future as well. </div>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
<b>Zoeva Premiere Palette</b> </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I got this as one of my mother's Christmas presents. I really wanted another Zoeva palette (which wasn't released in the UK until after Christmas, which now makes me kinda mad to be honest) but after a few thought I realised I'd love and wear this palette a lot. I really love Zoeva's formula and this palette has 4 shades I can use on a everyday basics and the rest are perfect for events and special occasions. I actually wore this palette during the New Years Eve dinner party and it was amazing! A review will be done soon! </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></center>
<center>
<b>TonyMoly Cat's Purrfect Eye Contour Stick</b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Isn't this the cutest thing you've seen? I was gifted this by a college friend and it's by far one of the perfect gifts I got this year! She knows I love TonyMoly products (We spend a lot of time looking at them whenever we go to Sephora) and she couldn't have chosen a better product! This stick gives a gorgeous radiance and highlighter to my under eye area. It's a must have, specially during finals.</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center>
<b>Make Up For Ever Mist&Fix Setting Spray </b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I repurchase this as soon as I got back from my trip for the New Year's Eve. My old setting spray had given his last spritz and I couldn't see myself getting a different one. I got the small version instead of the full-size one mostly because it serves my needs and it's super travel-friendly. It's by far my favourite setting spray and I won't be switching it any time soon. </center>

<b>NYX Faux Whites eyeliner in Mintgreen</b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
So, after a late purge into my eyeliner collection, I was left with zero pencils for my waterline are. Before you ask, the reason I got rid of many of those was because they were either too old or they didn't really work out for me. I decided to finally get one of the eyeliners from NYX. They are meant to brighten the waterline without being actually white. I ended up choosing the mint shade, specially because it's a shade I like but I don't own. I might get another shades in the future as well. </center>

<b>NYX That's the Point in Hella Fine </b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Although I've been a fan of gel eyeliner for the most part of 2018, I decided to get a eyeliner pen in order to my make up in a more simple and fuzz free way for whenever I have to go to UNI. I was going to get Another eyeliner from NYX, but after a conversation with the Make Up Artist there, she told me that this would have a better tip and hold as beautifully. I have to say, I never did eyeliner as effortlessly as I do with this eyeliner. I do hope NYX gets to release a waterproof version (although I have to say, this does stay in place for a good set of hours!) </center>

<b>A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy by Sarah J Maas </b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I got the box set with these 3 book also as a gift from my mum. I've been really curious about this author's work, specially because she writes about Faeries, something I actually grew up reading and enjoying. It's a take on folk mythology that has always intrigued me.</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I've seen a tone of reviews about these books on goodreads - everyone loves them! So I am looking forward to read them as soon as I finish two of the books I am currently reading.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Heartless by Marissa Meyer</b></div>
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I've been a fan of Marisa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles saga and I've been really curious about this book. I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carol and I am curious to see how this retelling, focused on the Red Queen will play out. And can we take a bit to appreciate the cover? It's gorgeous!<br /></center>

<center>
Hello hello!</center>
<center>
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I feel like I need to apologize for the lack of posts. (I mean, this post is all about that). You see, Christmas was a very hectic season, followed by a very quick room renovation, New Year's trip and lastly for a very case of flu. Posting and reading blogs has sadly, becoming the last thing I'd thing about. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
So, before I resume my regular schedule - I am already planning new blog posts, although I still need to work o the photography , which is something I really want to improve this year - I really want to explain where I have been and what I look forward for the present year. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
<b> The Christmas Season</b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Christmas is usually seen as a season of love, kindness and all things good. And don't get me wrong, it was all of that. But it was also days of planning, going out and getting everything out of place. Specially since I had a very busy week right after it. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: center;">
<b>The week after and my trip to IKEA</b></center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of my resolutions for this Christmas was to finally get my new book shelf and a new desk (actually I just got a new table top, but it looks like a new desk anyway). This meant I had to do my trip and then step up everything with my dad. (Plus the fact I had a friends dinner scheduled for the renovations day!!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Everything is finally done, with just a minor thing to be done eventually. My room feels bigger and more accommodating to my needs. I am planning to do a few changes on my vanity as well (which I will explain next). Oh and did I mention I ended up also having to travel for a New Year's Eve party with a friend? Yes, a very busy week!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85yM6G__Vg26OZSHAzTIhFWZYksPfTz3WNBuH4rbqPTPEK7kS6DYGTpN999puV1SdUkLmIs6sup3fS2_N5syd2nDtw6Z8ldvU60qJpezQ6iTIE1hnoHys8MT_MduafurL1S1S443WtYCS/s1600/Where_have_I_been_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="321" data-original-width="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85yM6G__Vg26OZSHAzTIhFWZYksPfTz3WNBuH4rbqPTPEK7kS6DYGTpN999puV1SdUkLmIs6sup3fS2_N5syd2nDtw6Z8ldvU60qJpezQ6iTIE1hnoHys8MT_MduafurL1S1S443WtYCS/s1600/Where_have_I_been_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>What happened after New Year's Eve</b></div>
And if you thought things got slower when I got back....not really! I ended up doing a second IKEA trip in order to get myself a new mattress and I got the flu! Which made me super tired and crankier because I've been coughing for the longest time and not being able to sleep very well. I am finally recovering and looking forward to tackle some projects. </div>
</center>
<center>
<b><br /></b></center>
<center>
<b>What about the blog? New projects?</b></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Although I've been busy and sick, I haven't forgot about the blog. I am looking forward to post as often as I can. I am planning to share more reviews, books and possibly a declutter series! I really want to change things in my vanity area, but I cannot do that without going through what I own and part ways with what no longer serves me. I do this very often and without publishing it, but this year I am seriously thinking about doing it as a monthly segment. (any ideas about it?) I am also thinking about starting to share my bullet journal process, since it's something I'll finally start this year.</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I wish 2019 gets to be a good year for all of you!Let's make this a better year than 2018! </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">

<center>
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
I am very aware that it is a bit late for gift guides (or not? there is always someone who shops at the last minute I guess?) and I hadn't done any, specially beauty related, because I'd already seen really amazing gift guides from really amazing and talented girls. <a name='more'></a>But at the beginning of this week something stroke my mind. I've seen gift guides for her, him, toddlers (<a href="https://www.gemmalouise.co.uk/2018/11/gift-guide-toddler-edition.html" target="_blank">Gemma's</a> is a really good one!!) and even for those who just love cosy home stuff. But I haven't seen any gift guides to someone like me: the nerdiest and geekiest friend! </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
With that in mind, here I am making my attempt to that. If anything, I hope this might give your some ideas to make the Christmas of that friend that really loves Game of Thrones and is currently hyping about Captain Marvel's new movie trailer extra magical. </center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1YjhJILKc0xJYkCS7P5AmqLHS0TgwZdd0KCchMtzbcfe4EomzbIuU42czTSBHmP89DuZB0oHCbl9WeEhxFuef5mxXutM0zi0fPnRk17Es9zrZB_cqnjbRFUIaK-lO_F-UDyFN00kp_-t2/s1600/Gif_Guide_Nerds_1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1YjhJILKc0xJYkCS7P5AmqLHS0TgwZdd0KCchMtzbcfe4EomzbIuU42czTSBHmP89DuZB0oHCbl9WeEhxFuef5mxXutM0zi0fPnRk17Es9zrZB_cqnjbRFUIaK-lO_F-UDyFN00kp_-t2/s1600/Gif_Guide_Nerds_1.png" /></a></div>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Yes I can imagine some of you rolling their eyes right after reading Primark, but let's be honest: it's where you will likely find really amazing stuff for really affordable price. I couldn't add it but for example, a bed cover from Harry Potter costs more or less 18£ when before I could only find them at minimum of 40£...plus shipping from the US!</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
The good thing is that you can get anything there. The super popular <b>Disney Chip Mug</b> is back for 5£ but you can get the really cute <b>Disney 101 Dalmatian Mug</b> for 6£. Disney Store also has similar Mugs, but that cost double the price of these. (I guess it really depends on your budget!) Primark also has mugs for Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Harry Potter, Bambi...Star Wars! Your friends coffee and tea would never be same. </center>
<center>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If your friend likes to state his loves on the wall like me, the <b>I'd Rather be at Hogwarts poster</b> (which only costs 2£!! What a steal!) is probably a really good option. I am planning a small renovation at home and I am seriously thinking about getting one for myself! And with the cold weather, there's nothing better than a hot bottle...except a <b>Hedwig Hot Water bottle</b>! For 8£ you get something cute and warm at the same time. (It can also double as decoration!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh and if yout friend happens to be a geek and love beauty (you know, like me), this <b>Minnie Mirror </b>for 6£ is probably the cutest thing! It reminds me of Jeffree Star's mirror, but with that Disney touch to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly from primark, among other things,<b>Harry Potter Pyjamas</b>! There's nothing like a warm and cute pyjama...specially if it's a Harry Potter (they also have Batman and Star Wars I believe). If your friend happens to be someone who loves to be at home, believe me he/she will love these (and for 12£ and 13£ they are amazing!) It will be like Hogwarts Common rooms.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6mBGayoSsLwssRdq0umhrQt3p49UgqBi_Arul8t9DLBEr-mfS_VmoEMd_CjTp6BwlCR4anCHv7sv5b4cMg5GuGPyPsamt5O_92jwLYpsEOyE9s3U5aaUL5cT5n8TELobsHKmYHZZi0Gpj/s1600/Gif_Guide_Nerds_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6mBGayoSsLwssRdq0umhrQt3p49UgqBi_Arul8t9DLBEr-mfS_VmoEMd_CjTp6BwlCR4anCHv7sv5b4cMg5GuGPyPsamt5O_92jwLYpsEOyE9s3U5aaUL5cT5n8TELobsHKmYHZZi0Gpj/s1600/Gif_Guide_Nerds_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another thing your friend might love are <b>Funko Pop Figures</b>! They usually can cost between 10 and 14£ (depending on the size and extras) and you can easily find them at speciality stores, some bookshops nowadays also carry them and Disney Stores nowadays do carry the ones that are related to Disney and Marvel character. I do Own a Baymax Pop Figure from Big Hero 6, which I adore! I've been thinking about getting a few companions, which will likely happen in 2019! The ones I have here are a mix of what was really popular this year: Deadpool, Batman (because he's Batman!!) Harry Potter & Newt Scamander and Venom. I'd also all of the Avengers, Black Panther and any other character. (I hope they get to do some inspired by The Chilling Stories of Sabrina!!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And lastly, board games! I still know people who love a good board game and for Christmas celebrations it can be a good prompt to leave people out of social media and the internet and just stay together. It's also super entertaining for other family and friendly gatherings. The two I have presented here are the <b>Cluedo Game of Thrones</b> ( which can cost around 35£ at Amazon) and <b>Monopoly Game of Thrones</b> (which is around 20£ at Amazon as well). These also exist in form of other games and with other series (back in the day I really wanted to get the Assassin's Creed Monopoly!)<br />
<br />
Another recommendation I'll leave is, if you happen to want to gift a book but you don't know what your friend might be into or want...Check their Goodreads page! They might add the books they want to their "want to read" collection so you can see either what books they want to read or even what series sparks interest.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNUTM7p7jlDJRZbZkMwnp8ihngPBCdfe5ORlZHOJth9rVB-zLTKRYxCvnr7yGf084lFHgsW0DbT-1S7xqsJSFUt6nOjcWiXuoc4PcuRboGiKT9GAiU-EjFCYF9eg2t9WVDR_GnFO3pDq44/s1600/GiftGuide_Geek_Nerd_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="577" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNUTM7p7jlDJRZbZkMwnp8ihngPBCdfe5ORlZHOJth9rVB-zLTKRYxCvnr7yGf084lFHgsW0DbT-1S7xqsJSFUt6nOjcWiXuoc4PcuRboGiKT9GAiU-EjFCYF9eg2t9WVDR_GnFO3pDq44/s1600/GiftGuide_Geek_Nerd_2.png" /></a></div>
<br />
I hope you all enjoyed this, I know it's a bit of detour from the usual beauty-related posts but I really wanted to share it. Who knows, I might do these more often? </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
November flew away at a highway speed. One day we are celebrating Halloween and when we realise we are almost celebrating Christmas and eating Turkey (in my case codfish) with family. Nonetheless, I want to share my November & Autumn favourites, since December marks the beginning of Winter. </div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
I also want to take time to talk a bit about Black Friday, mostly because I won't be sharing any hauls. I spend my Black Friday weekend in the countryside with my family and my only and single purchase was my new blog theme, which was on my wishlist for the longest time. I still have to work a few details (specially regarding the menus) but it's all fully operational and working. I really enjoy it and I hope you do too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp_-hdHgbmhLswxFK2UopfhekCdRxyYtAUUgDN9PB9uSgzsM3_RW0qNHT3jGC0IbfPSVvgVF2ePagu0GO8tepUmp8AgWyVSqRBnkWioazhwAl-cE99mwLzYGro6lZBjgAp6hMovi9ADI26/s1600/November_Autumn_favs_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="540" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp_-hdHgbmhLswxFK2UopfhekCdRxyYtAUUgDN9PB9uSgzsM3_RW0qNHT3jGC0IbfPSVvgVF2ePagu0GO8tepUmp8AgWyVSqRBnkWioazhwAl-cE99mwLzYGro6lZBjgAp6hMovi9ADI26/s1600/November_Autumn_favs_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I feel like I've talked a lot about this palette, but <b>Zoeva's Cocoa Blend Palette</b> has been my go-to eyeshadow palette for this month and season. I love the warm shades of this palette and it's quality, which can easily rival with palettes from Urban Decay or even Huda Beauty, while costing a fraction of their price point. My go-to eyeshadows have been Substitute for Love, Freshly Toasted and Warm Notes, while I love to wear Pure Ganache on special occasions. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A new product that really made a difference in my routine was the ultra famous <b>Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion,</b> which I got since I was in need of a really good eyeshadow primer. My lips are quite oily and I need something to hold them in place. This primer not only does that, he also makes them look more vibrant and bled perfectly. I guess it's famous for a reason, right? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And with the cold weather, no one wants to look flat and over matte. But I cannot ditch powder since I have a an oily T-zone. And that's where the <b>Bourjois Java Powder</b> gets to come in, since it sets my makeup but it gives a really luminous and healthy glow without letting the oil come through. The only thing I have to point out is that I wish they could do a pressed version of this! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpMX0kt2MlupFlDeXdeMcMc555KFpiDrA79GOn8bBXt3UN08EAfRgJ1Qv_6RV-TgAsK3-fBvJvb7cG5VZXQwGbfhYMlSd5ZMxR85D8FCXIyyYmnKCnpmXOqJ1ojJWQaVYv4Lg6A9HUcwui/s1600/November_Autumn_favs_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="738" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpMX0kt2MlupFlDeXdeMcMc555KFpiDrA79GOn8bBXt3UN08EAfRgJ1Qv_6RV-TgAsK3-fBvJvb7cG5VZXQwGbfhYMlSd5ZMxR85D8FCXIyyYmnKCnpmXOqJ1ojJWQaVYv4Lg6A9HUcwui/s1600/November_Autumn_favs_3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With the cold weather, my hair was in need of a boost. With that in mind I decided to get the <b>OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum</b> and It has impressed me! It leaves my hair stronger, nourished and smelling marvellously. I am seriously thinking about getting one of their Argan oils as well in the future, but so far this has been a huge help for my hair. Have I mentioned how good this smells? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But the cold weather also got me some problems regarding chapped lips. My trusty helper for that was <b>La Roche-Posay's Cicaplast</b>, which helps repairing them and also moisturising them. This current tube is almost empty and I am already planing on repurchasing it again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly but not least, my favourite lipstick was with no doubt <b>Sephora's Lip Stain in 41 Vintage Rosewood, </b>which I have mentioned more than once on the blog. I love the formula and the shade of this lipstick, since it works at any occasion and look I might put on. I am seriously thinking about getting a couple more of these after Christmas! </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Colourpop is no stranger to beauty lovers. I've been dying to try out this products for the longest time and this year, with the help of a friend, I finally place my first order on their website. Spoiler alert: Everything is so nice!</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
I placed a 50$ order in order to get the international free shipping. If you live in the UK, you can pay your VAT at the end of your purchase and you will no longer pay extra money to Royal Mail or anything like that. Super smooth hun? (I might place another order after Christmas or in mid-March around Easter since I might be visiting my mum in the UK) </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi19GojIxoXG_epBdTFO7ynLBYjVqauEM05CtzXfdk2EJP5966p33vbKY9Ir0q6ronxxa8HcRPz_GhEAUE6OwrVdKzxdbH_e89CDYeVU1cPAE1utHOWi1FI14xIXCxwWi8B2tyU4pzMZBha/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1002" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi19GojIxoXG_epBdTFO7ynLBYjVqauEM05CtzXfdk2EJP5966p33vbKY9Ir0q6ronxxa8HcRPz_GhEAUE6OwrVdKzxdbH_e89CDYeVU1cPAE1utHOWi1FI14xIXCxwWi8B2tyU4pzMZBha/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_2.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first item that got into my bag was obviously the <b>Give it To Me Straight Palette</b> (with a name that can rival most of Fall Out Boy song titles due to it's length), which is a gorgeous neutral palette with a few warm notes. I almost got Yes Please and their Good Sport palette, but because I wasn't really sure about the colour scheme of these I went for this one. I also wanted to get their Disney Designer palette but it was completely sold out at the time (I might grab it after Christmas if it's still available)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As a first impression, I actually thought this palette was going to be bigger than what actually is (not complaining, I mean this just cost 16$ which is a bargain!) and does not contain a mirror - which doesn't bug me too much since I tend to not use palette mirrors. It has 12 shades, 5 shimmers and 7 mattes and as stated before, it has warm toned shadows. My favourite shades so far are BS, Candid and Be Blunt. A full review will come out in December.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgigaTzmLoRw3frtwhIJjScqPLpYmmRnHEJwmIZCK31ddeGtc6IKTiQ-k5qbCE6hcePrsv-oyGarg2gmDiwGw_TcUWfymKCPbx2YS_xN8T9sTtA8PZsmI9-big-4B6UCYBqHdw5skGS2HDl/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="607" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgigaTzmLoRw3frtwhIJjScqPLpYmmRnHEJwmIZCK31ddeGtc6IKTiQ-k5qbCE6hcePrsv-oyGarg2gmDiwGw_TcUWfymKCPbx2YS_xN8T9sTtA8PZsmI9-big-4B6UCYBqHdw5skGS2HDl/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But I could not pass on their eyeshadow's and face items, specially from the Super Shock line. First I got the <b>Super Shock Cheek in Between the sheets</b>, which is a perfect blush shade for everyday wear and any occasion. I am still playing with it, but so far I believe this blush is better applied with my fingers than with a brush. I also picked a highlighter and it's really funny because I got the <b>Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian</b> thinking it would be a more natural highlighter instead of something like Spellbound or Felicity (which are still in my wishlist) but it is really bright (although I can have a light hand with it and making it work). And if you are wondering about the look of it, the highlighter was kinda all condensed into a ball when I got it (I imagine that it was because of travelling in the place??) and I had to smosh it into place again. And as you can see, I also got a Super Shock Shadow broken, which are the only two minor things I'd have to complain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking of that, the one that got broken is the <b>Super Shock Shadow in Weenie</b> and it's a ultra-metallic eyeshadow that I love to wear all over the lid, but that I am planning to also use as a accent shade in a halo eyeshadow look. The same goes to the <b>Super Shock Shadow in La La</b>, a glitter-finish eyeshadow that I also love to year on it's own and as an accent shade. Both shades are easy to blend out with my fingers and with matte eyeshadows. I am looking forward to get more of these and try out their matte formula as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY6vxJEgOXh5L_nr0SA918Pxqc2-zTk5DsU8rVOiFU5hJAXprUADNClq93uw6i08W2UE5iBZebFaQ60U_swOTFYUPxPiJsGaXrkBd3yP9NVaXbLF6gfqwOJp_GId2zp_l3oEqj1ITx3pJ/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="746" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY6vxJEgOXh5L_nr0SA918Pxqc2-zTk5DsU8rVOiFU5hJAXprUADNClq93uw6i08W2UE5iBZebFaQ60U_swOTFYUPxPiJsGaXrkBd3yP9NVaXbLF6gfqwOJp_GId2zp_l3oEqj1ITx3pJ/s1600/Colourpop_Haul_4.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly but not least, I wanted to try out their ultra-famous liquid lipsticks so I decided to get their bundle Up and Away, with three nude lipsticks - two ultra matte and one ultra satin. The <b>Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso</b> reminds me of a old favourite of mine from Sephora, but not as matte. I find these really comfortable to wear, although they feel a bit stick at first and will come off a lot easier. On the other hand, both of the <b>Ultra Matte Lip in Mama</b> and <b>Love Bug</b> will stay in place and only move when eating super greasy food. Mama is actually more on the Orage-side and as strange as it seems, It's actually my favourite shade from the bunch. I am looking forward to get more shade in the future!</div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As the end of the year approaches and Festivities start - Christmas parties, New Years Eve and such - if there's something that much be on point is foundation. Fenty Beauty was finally released here at Sephora by the end of August and I was lucky enough to get it right away. After much thought and use, I'll be sharing my thoughts on it.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
I believe I cannot start this review without talking about how Fenty Beauty is important for representation. I have to tell you, there's nothing more beautiful than going to a makeup stand and see that everyone can easily get a match. That's something that for the longest time I could only see at MAC for example. I am thankful Rihanna, not only for creating this brand so carefully, but also for opening the eyes of other brands. Consumers are also more aware of this issue and will point it out rather quickly - Beauty Blender's Foundation is an example. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The Packaging & Texture </b><br />The packaging of this foundation is very classy and I don't have anything in particular to point out. I can see how much product I have or not and the pump works perfectly, providing the right amount of product and without the common spills associated with pumps. Perhaps the only thing I don't like is how easy the cap gets dirty, but nothing that a simple micelar water can't solve. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Texture is liquid and easy to blend into the skin, although I am constantly reminding myself that I need to properly shake the foundation before applying it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The finish, application and overall performance</b> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The finish of this foundation is different upon the choice of application. If you go for a foundation brush, it will have the "foundation" look that not many people enjoy. Although it won't be uncomfortable, it won't be looking that good after awhile. On the other hand, if you decide to use a wet sponge, the foundation will have a more natural look, without appearing bad or cracking up were it shouldn't.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An important thing to mention is: this isn't a good option if your skin isn't on point. You know those mornings were we don't wake up that good and we want something that will pick up? This isn't an option of that. The better prepared your skin is, the better it will look. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, it performs really well and holds off any oil from the T-zone perfectly - although bare in mind what I just said about skin condition. If you are looking for a foundation for special events like Christmas and New Years Ever, this is a good option. On a daily-wear, it might not have the most natural finish (although mixing a more glowy primer or drops into it might change a bit)<br />This has been my choice for when I go out and want to look nice and polished and I'll continue to use it, while keeping my search for a daily-wear foundation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
<br />
October was a very weird month. With some of the hottest and coldest days of the year, strange things in my personal life and new discoveries beauty-wise. I wouldn't believe it would be like this if someone had told me beforehand.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Work wise, I had the most terrible experience in my life. I won't be telling in detail what happened, but my advise is no never, EVER, accept an internship without knowing the full conditions that will be presented to you. It was a rather setback that did not help me mentally but that thankfully I am totally over it. I'm finally into what I really should be.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKP6qshRwXEAwjcvFxCFNUaLTXQQHtTy9F03gyNH67fVsPqeNtQABrOYz58x6qanryL345bcmgxaOVbPL5bq6booABQbZ3bcsyVcsPXBxKUM7IHSpRPobFpL2MZ6L3AGJ8J992KzBE_cyN/s1600/October_favourites_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="585" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKP6qshRwXEAwjcvFxCFNUaLTXQQHtTy9F03gyNH67fVsPqeNtQABrOYz58x6qanryL345bcmgxaOVbPL5bq6booABQbZ3bcsyVcsPXBxKUM7IHSpRPobFpL2MZ6L3AGJ8J992KzBE_cyN/s1600/October_favourites_2.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The perfect eye team</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was a month of discoveries and re-discoveries in the eyeshadow department. In a recent post, I shared how I recently bought a new eyeshadow primer because I felt like I needed a new and good one. I am pleased to say that the <b>Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion</b> is my new favourite and that I am more than happy about this acquisition. The eyeshadows look brighter and stay in place for the longest time. The real question is: why didn't I get this earlier?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And the obvious re-discovery was the <b>Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette</b>. It has the perfect warm shadows for this season and the quality is speechless. I am seriously thinking about getting one of their next releases because I am yet to find a brand that can consistently release products with quality and without much fuzz. My favourite shades this month were <i>Substitute for Love</i>, <i>Freshly Toasted</i> and <i>Warm Notes</i>. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-size: large;">The New & the Old, the Regular & the Unspoken </span></h3>
I could not do a favourites post this month without mentioning the <b>Soph x Revolution Lipstick in Fudge</b>, which became one of my favourite nude lipstick. It has a beautiful shade, it's easy to apply and it's super comfortable. Obviously it won't survive a full meal like a liquid lipstick, but it is easy to re-apply. Have I said how much I love the packaging?<br />
Following that, I am again mentioning the <b>Sephora Lip Stain in 41 Vintage Rosewood</b> because it has been living in my handbag alongside Fudge. It's a staple I cannot live without because it will look good no matter what and stay in place. Can't beat a regular like that. (although there's something on the way that might shake things up!)<br />
An old favourite that got rediscovered recently is my <b>Bourjois Poudre de Riz</b>, which is a gorgeous luminous loose powder that I have been afraid of wearing for the longest time. I recently decided to switch things a bit up and use this more as a setting powder. It helps to set my makeup but it also gives a beautiful glow, not leaving my skin super flat.<br />
And lastly but not least, the <b>Nature Republic Peppermint Clay Mask</b> was meant to be featured earlier but for some reason that did not happen. This clay mask has a very specific scent that too me is very similar o Lush's clay mask. The difference is that this mask does stay or feel like an usual clay mask, looking more pasty. The smell and the mint can be problematic to more sensitive skins (to me it just tingles at the beginning and then it gets comfortable) but I love how my skin looks when I rinse it off from my skin.<br />

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This post took a while to come out. But I guess it is better later than ever, specially when the topic is affordable skin care!</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, I almost boycotted The Ordinary (and the whole DECIEM) group because of the disturbing reports and instagram posts made by their former CEO. Rude comments, unprofessional behaviour and other appalling situations were happening and no one was able to take control of the situation, until Esteé Lauder (who owns up to 28% of DECIEM) decided to finally take legal action in court regarding how the group was being run. Please bare in mind that there are reports that the former CEO might suffer from some kind of mental health problem, which I do hope that he is now being taking care of with help and support of family and friends. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dramas aside, I am here to today to talk about <b>The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7%</b> Toning Solution, which I got to replace my ultra beloved Pixi Glow Tonic. I tried to purchase this toner for a while but it was constantly out of stock, until on a strike of luck I was finally able to do my order.<br />
The packaging is a very simple bottle with a white label, which has the name of the products at the front and the ingredients on the back. It came with a safe stopper and the dispenser as well, although I have to say that the dispenser is actually nice nice and helps you with placing the correct amount of toner on the cotton.<br />
<br />
As for the product itself, it does not contain any scent - only the chemical one from the ingredients - and it isn't in my opinion harsh to the skin. This product has more Glycolic Acid than Pixi's Glow Tonic (which also has Aloe Vera) and because of that I feel like it alows what I use next (serum and moisturiser) to penetrate more into the skin. After using it regularly, I noticed my skin continued to look better and pores were unclogged.<br />
I do believe it is a product that deserves it's recognition and by it's price - around 8,80€ at most retailers and The Ordinary's website - I cannot point out another product that will work like this. I'll probably go back to my Pixi Glow Tonic in the future (because I feel it is a luxurious experience) but might be getting a couple bottles of this and recommend it to friends.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWLIOKNciRV_118nT-UZUq52goYiRaKUbhqnaZ6Dt62wqeD4Q1eWbT413OS0yO_jElBVwP1cSOXc5JTyaTtZT6sYy_ZycZ6VTMfndoN69hSe_-gQcAP5ZU_n2KwdYl15bQyTg9Kc4vtvdC/s1600/New_Makeup_Haul_1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWLIOKNciRV_118nT-UZUq52goYiRaKUbhqnaZ6Dt62wqeD4Q1eWbT413OS0yO_jElBVwP1cSOXc5JTyaTtZT6sYy_ZycZ6VTMfndoN69hSe_-gQcAP5ZU_n2KwdYl15bQyTg9Kc4vtvdC/s1600/New_Makeup_Haul_1.png" /></a></div>
<br />
After my birthday it was expected that I'd have already a major Haul here. But...for now I decided to only get these small bits. Mostly because I am hording until most of the Holiday releases and special kits (also Black Friday!!) And yet I still needed and wanted some treats.<br />
<a name='more'></a>I mean, I was saving my money for my Colourpop order, until I saw Zoeva's new palette and Holiday kit with eye brushes. They will also be releasing a small cracker at Sephora with a small palette and two eye brushes. Not to mention other bits from The Ordinary - now I can finally trust the brand. I might talk a bit more about it in my upcoming review on their toner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTdDMU3zOLqfxw9lCn9pV7mtVVYdGvzJ7J4PnX-QkIB-D1mkvpdaz0kMAW_O1QLhCvCe9fEZ5QVgXaBiIqphPMxSZOsiA2skYU_-ePeZ1rxWR4XAWQNZ1E8OvdJp5yO73F6leKyUcVFZYU/s1600/New_Makeup_Haul_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTdDMU3zOLqfxw9lCn9pV7mtVVYdGvzJ7J4PnX-QkIB-D1mkvpdaz0kMAW_O1QLhCvCe9fEZ5QVgXaBiIqphPMxSZOsiA2skYU_-ePeZ1rxWR4XAWQNZ1E8OvdJp5yO73F6leKyUcVFZYU/s1600/New_Makeup_Haul_2.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A bit out of nowhere I decided I need a new eyeshadow primer. My NYX Proof it was slowly declaring his death and I wasn't really happy with it at the moment - mostly because it wasn't holding my eyeshadows like it used to - and it felt like the right time. I decided to give another shot to the <b>Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion</b> and buy the travel size. It was sold out...so I got the full-size version! Although I must admit that I almost got Fenty's eyeshadow primer, until the makeup artist at Sephora gave me his opinion about it and I went for this one instead. I am more than happy, specially since not only it helps with keeping my eyeshadows in place, it also makes them look more vibrant on the eyelid! </div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">(Soph x Revolution Lipstick in Fudge ; Revolution Lip liner in Noble ; Revolution Liquid Lipstick in Noble; Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On the other hand, I ended up placing a Beauty Bay order with a friend. She was going to do a order by herself but it wasn't enough to qualify for free shipping. Since I hadn't spend any money on myself I decided to get a small treat. After some research (regarding swatches) and asking some advice, I decided to finally try out Revolution's lip kit and get one of their lipsticks with Sophdoesnails.<br />Starting with the lipsticks, the <b>Soph x Revolution Lipstick in Fudge</b> was a really nice surprise. I was torn between this and Cake but my friend ended up pointing out to this one. Although the swatches might make them look similar, Fudge looks a lot more grey on my lips. It is super comfortable to wear and actually hold really nicely - although it will come off once you start eating. I am actually thinking about getting Cake next!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Following that, the <b>Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit in Noble</b> was a very good surprise. I still remember watching Soph's video while she swatched every box that existed at the time. Noble seemed the one I'd be wearing the most for now so that why I got it. So far, I really enjoy how creamy the lip liner is and how long lasting this kit is. Once it's dry, only really greasy food would temper with it and I have to use a cleansing balm to remove it. It's almost bulletproof. </div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Autumn has finally arrived (although in a bit of a bumpy way) and with that I am finally pulling out my comfy jumpers, stocking and of course: nail polish! </div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
If during Spring and Summer I like to wear more light and pastel shades, during the colder weather I love to wear more dark and metallic shades. With that in mind, I'll be sharing my favourite nail polishes for the upcoming season. And if you are wondering why this post is just about Essie, it's because 90% of my nail polish collection is made out of Essie nail polishes. A few years back I decided to only get nail polish that would be good and worth my pennies. Although I might do a post later about other nail polishes I love for the season that aren't from Essie but are equally good. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjemtAqeCa_IhsCQbZrTVF9yaZyrp536gt0gG75V_cgr4W2Ly6EEc6ViZQ9i_AWIztUVJBE7LEmPz4VL7EDEsjGYxN_oEyaF0TEI6pyYUsLPWWFMiebiPPFLfvftHhIvdtrl8aBVmfbKmJN/s1600/Essie_Polish_Autumn_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="950" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjemtAqeCa_IhsCQbZrTVF9yaZyrp536gt0gG75V_cgr4W2Ly6EEc6ViZQ9i_AWIztUVJBE7LEmPz4VL7EDEsjGYxN_oEyaF0TEI6pyYUsLPWWFMiebiPPFLfvftHhIvdtrl8aBVmfbKmJN/s1600/Essie_Polish_Autumn_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Running away from the whole metallic vibe, <b>Cocktail bling</b> is a gorgeous light blue-grey that I love to wear, specially at the beginning of the season in order to have a smooth transition. And to fight the gloomy feeling that the cold weather might also provide. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But a really gorgeous metallic polish I love is <b>Trophy Wife</b>, a gorgeous blue with green reflects. I believe I have said how much this dark blue? I love to wear this alone and sometimes as a topper with a darker blue or black nail polish underneath. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And I could not go by without <b>Lady Godiva</b>, a gorgeous brown that reminds me of my teenager years (because I wanted to paint my nails black but I wasn't allowed...so I got the darkest shade I could. Although at the time was a brown nail polish with a red undertone). Nonetheless, I love this polish to death and I really want to get a gold nail polish to pair it with!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Purple is for sure a colour I love to wear during Autumn/Fall and Winter. With that in mind <b>Sexy divide</b> puts together one of my favourite colours with the metallic effect that I also adore. This is by far one of my favourite nail polishes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And following my love for dark blue nail polish, <b>Bobbing for baubles</b> is obviously on the menu for this upcoming seasons as well. I like to wear it alone or with other nail polishes like trophy wife for example. Can't wait to apply it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly but not least at all, after sex is my favourite red metallic nail polish! The name can be a bit....uncomfortable for some people. But let's pretend we don't have already a blush name Orgasm (and another named Deep Throat) or a mascara named Better than Sex. Personally I have nothing against any of these names, but it's quite funny when I look at this nail polish and without looking at the name the only thing that comes to my mind is Christmas. (strange I know!!)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Autumn is slowly peaking through, after a really hot day in the beginning of October. Nonetheless, I have been already preparing my hair and body for the change of season, picking up products that will help me once the cold arrives so that I don't find myself in the middle of as unpleasant surprise.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
This because last year for example I got a really nasty allergic reaction to the cold weather and got my eyes super dry and sore. Not to mention that this year my hair need more care than the usual. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjufKdq2ElKCBHSNH6hNDaBz4ZOQ4oRjOiZhIgec9MG9exWuXJcpNc3rTYWwUnjZQTcRRXHLaZdfESKf5KTAC3bTtDOOSAX6qrSg-5srHRmT2zMw7TxGK971Vo0ew6OkPwG7PNCHqPMzCNU/s1600/Five_Hair_Body_Products_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="919" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjufKdq2ElKCBHSNH6hNDaBz4ZOQ4oRjOiZhIgec9MG9exWuXJcpNc3rTYWwUnjZQTcRRXHLaZdfESKf5KTAC3bTtDOOSAX6qrSg-5srHRmT2zMw7TxGK971Vo0ew6OkPwG7PNCHqPMzCNU/s1600/Five_Hair_Body_Products_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Taking care of the body </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have a confession to make: I am usually really lazy with my body care, mostly because I either forget to use moisturiser when I really should, or because I let products end and I take way too much time to repurchase them (minus Shower gel, because that lives in my bathroom without a doubt). But this year I started to finally develop a proper routine and I've sticking up with it!<br />
For starters I am continuously using a good body scrub and for this season my choice goes to the <b>The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspeberry Body Scrub</b>, which I got in a set from my local Outlet TBS. I really love how it looks like jam and the smell!! I am pretty sure they will release it again, alongside with the blueberry version, like they do every year. (which I really want to get as well)<br />
And speaking of this range, their <b>The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspeberry Softening Body Butter</b> is another current favourite! I remember that one of my favourite posts a few years ago was a haul where this was featured. After so many years all I can say is that I still really love this, since it has the perfect cosy and not too sweet scent for the colder weather while properly moisturising my skin. I am heavily considering getting a backup of this ASAP!<br />
Oh and this new addition? You need to try out <b>Barnagen Caring Shower Cream</b>! It's probably the best shower cream I have EVER used! it doesn't have a really strong scent and because it has a percentage of cold cream, it leaves my skin lightly moisturised. I love how fuzz-free this product is and how it reminds me of the Scandinavian culture! I am thinking about trying out other products from their range, which includes two different body moisturisers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX-JPFk2vhXEKLRqyuSh3wVvWRuWdct37NZHv1pl4-R9wV1QG0Q8DNhGjC_tzSGP_z5ulc5vBt0_RvmViQjUhz5BZ_0NDPzSwIJqT7Xz8Ag1ZKb-sUg6jjGGVqHpsvBRIS6QSn-Sz9e3SJ/s1600/Five_Hair_Body_products_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="595" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX-JPFk2vhXEKLRqyuSh3wVvWRuWdct37NZHv1pl4-R9wV1QG0Q8DNhGjC_tzSGP_z5ulc5vBt0_RvmViQjUhz5BZ_0NDPzSwIJqT7Xz8Ag1ZKb-sUg6jjGGVqHpsvBRIS6QSn-Sz9e3SJ/s1600/Five_Hair_Body_products_3.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">And the Hair as well</span></h3>
<div>
Oh yes! Hair isn't neglected either, specially after spending 2017 treating it so badly (when I say badly, I mean painting it pink/red every 3 months!) So when I heard that OGX was finally getting released here I decided to tried it. I first got the Biotin shampoo but for the colder time I'll be diving into the <b>OgX Keratin Oil Shampoo</b> because I really want to give so strength back to the hair!</div>
<div>
Nonetheless, I am currently on my second bottle of the <b>OxX Coconut Milk Conditioner</b> and I believe it's an affair to continue. This leaves my hair super soft and nurtured, which all it really needs once the cold starts to settle. It also started an affair with coconut-related products for my hair! </div>
<div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
September was a crazy month! For starters I worked at my faculty because of the new students that were enrolling in their first-year of BA or MA. It was also my birthday month and other peculiar things got to happen. Nonetheless, there I am to share my beauty favourites of the month.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
And for anyone wondering, a small haul is going to released between this and next week, mostly because I still need to take photos of everything - considering that there are other things I'll be placing order or getting later in my mail. The same goes for some photography props I want to get as soon as possible. But enough with my rambling! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1EXZfF-kd7mc8BUHJhPOz_Bvs1pZD00OxEWZex2p1o7EH-U42dl56joL0ntdctKzgLcu8E9b9-cJ7pCqarc4P_LmEo0q0gUOhFrlcdjhLysnBgcH2Faqwdas_QWXTr_53Zw8bOcz-qElq/s1600/September_Favourites_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="650" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1EXZfF-kd7mc8BUHJhPOz_Bvs1pZD00OxEWZex2p1o7EH-U42dl56joL0ntdctKzgLcu8E9b9-cJ7pCqarc4P_LmEo0q0gUOhFrlcdjhLysnBgcH2Faqwdas_QWXTr_53Zw8bOcz-qElq/s1600/September_Favourites_2.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I got a new cleanser this month and I can't be more happy. My previous cleanser, Soap&Glory Hot Cloth cleanser was pretty much dying on me and although I've been hunting down Cerave's foam cleanser I ended up going for this one mostly due to the fact that it was on sale. It is indeed a very gentle cleanser that does not foam - although it has SLS in it's ingredient list, something I only found out later - and my skin does not feel super dry after using it. Being completely honest, it isn't my favourite cleanser but it does it's job and need recognition for that. But I can see myself getting the Cerave cleanser in a near future anyway. (specially because I want to get their moisturiser for the winter time and I am not going to get just that from the brand, right?)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So out of nowhere...FENTY IS AVAILABLE IN PORTUGAL!! I know, I know...it was available in other countries and we could try to order some of the products online but I really wanted to go in-store and get my match and I am so glad I did because I would never guess that this was going to be it. It's the good thing of a inclusive range!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've seen some people, specially friends of mine, not really loving it but I only have positive things to say. You won't love it if you have dry skin, that's for sure, but I believe it can look really beautiful on the skin. Something I personally noticed is that the foundation looks completely different depending on what you use to apply it. With a dense brush like Sigma's F82 it's going to look super full-coverage and with a very "foundation look" to it. But with a wet sponge it changes the look into a more natura one. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wore this to my birthday dinner and it hold beautifully throughout the whole event and it will be my go-to base for whenever I need a budge-proof foundation. I'll also be writing a very complete review about it as soon as possible!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnIWzeCU2YUzD3Ksi5paQ-OBIaU_I-_BPPFVPNOH9l_4UgO53yNtrvymn2zunwppkiulxwGsRJHl6XhD_rPsaYy7MPr8SZN3khHv5SuNJpas2qvL0CrY566NzojH01wmYFyEaU7hmrD7O/s1600/September_Favourites_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnIWzeCU2YUzD3Ksi5paQ-OBIaU_I-_BPPFVPNOH9l_4UgO53yNtrvymn2zunwppkiulxwGsRJHl6XhD_rPsaYy7MPr8SZN3khHv5SuNJpas2qvL0CrY566NzojH01wmYFyEaU7hmrD7O/s1600/September_Favourites_3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Evoluderm Lotion Tonique Purifiante, au zinc & extrait de Thé vert </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before you think I am crazy, this is a purifying toner from a French skincare company known as Evoluderm and this toner contains both zinc and green tea extract. I was gifted this lovely toner by a lovely lady (who I can call friend!) from the Academic Services of my faculty and I am so thankful and blessed! To be quite honest, until I was gifted this I had never heard about this brand before but now I am super curious about other products they might have!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's super gentle to my skin and does not contain alcohol (although it contains perfume! something people should be careful about) and I love to wear this in the mornings and after a really deep cleansing mask (because my skin never loves the idea of acid toning after that). It's going to easily become a all time favourite! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Revlon Professional Uniq One Coconut Hair Treatment</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That lovely lady also gifted me with this travel-size hair treatment and I have been using it after washing my hair and I'll for sure get myself a full-size ASAP! It has an amazing Coconut scent (which I love!!!) and it helps with moisturising and caring my hair. My hair has been not really happy with the super hot weather, getting a bit of a frizz and this has been a miracle for that. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sleek Makeup Face Contour in Medium </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You are probably wondering why the hell I am raving about a contour kit in medium when it will for sure look strange on my skin tone...and that's the thing: it doesn't! The trick is to have a really light hand with the pan and blend it all out - which is easy to do since the formula is really good! With the Autumn and Winter approaching I'll be using this as a eyeshadow duo as well. Mostly because that gold highlighter looks nice in my cheeks and even better as an eyeshadow on my lids. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was also kindly gifted by the lovely lady (I feel so blessed!!!)</div>

After Blush, what I love the most is lipstick without much question. Specially in the colder seasons where I can got for my shades of choice: reds, wine and deep browns. Today I'll be sharing what shades I'll be wearing while transitioning from the extremely suffocating hot weather to the more pleasant breeze of Autumn/Fall. </div>
<a name='more'></a>To be quite honest, I am actually more excited over Autumn/Fall this year and quite tired of the Summer - I just want to be able to sleep and feel cousy around my blankets. Although I am pretty sure I'll be regretting this decision once the winter sets in and I start to feel cold everyday. We cannot have everything, right?<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I have talked a lot about these guys lately. Last season I did not reach too much for them but for this one I can see myself doing it regularly without much fuzz. First of all they are more creamy than regular liquid lipsticks, which makes them perfect for the colder days - specially then my lips don't deal well with cold - while also being super long lasting. <b>Exotic</b> is a really warm shade that I consider more of a red lipstick, which is perfect with a warm matte look and a nice eyeliner. On the other hand, <b>French Maid</b> is a more purple tone that will be really nice for this season, specially since I am a lot into purple this year! If you want a nice comfortable transitioning liquid lipstick, these are a really nice option! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2WBB5HwtEYB5sEO7cWg7FsOqUDNh-i3JIE8lFHv7tOiirAAez3gO-loym1oPsj5I9jK3f69cgH5GMTXgAH5EBobLtMSIX3DPL7A-Lepb9s8ihnhg2b5KoD6qZLWUbxB074ks7txd_o7T4/s1600/Lipsticks_for_the_Autumn_Fall_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="650" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2WBB5HwtEYB5sEO7cWg7FsOqUDNh-i3JIE8lFHv7tOiirAAez3gO-loym1oPsj5I9jK3f69cgH5GMTXgAH5EBobLtMSIX3DPL7A-Lepb9s8ihnhg2b5KoD6qZLWUbxB074ks7txd_o7T4/s1600/Lipsticks_for_the_Autumn_Fall_2.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">NARS Audatious Lipstick in Barbara </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you are more into bullet lipstick - which is coming back this year with full force, <b>Barbara </b>is going to be a really lovely option to get. It is a super comfortable pink-nude matte lipstick that doesn't get dry of sinks into weird lines. It won't be as long lasting as liquid lipstick, but without much eating or drinking it will hold more than a regular lipstick. It's my choice for when I won't be out of the house many hours or when I can do retouches more easily.</div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">MAC Lipstick in Craving</span></h3>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I guess this is the return of a favourite! I used to wear <b>Craving</b> A LOT back in the day. I started to reach again for this lipstick specially due to the purple makeup vibes I have been feeling lately - maybe I should do a post about it later during the season? - and this has been a cult favourite of mine. I've heard people saying that no one cares about MAC lipsticks anymore, but here I am still reaching for my beloved and actually thinking about trading my old caps over a new lipstick. Any recommendations?</div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sephora Lip Stain in 41 and 24 </span></h3>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Probably the ones I have already reached for. Mostly because I love to wear them all year around. As I've said before, <b>41</b> is probably one my favourite nude lipsticks, since it is a really gorgeous warm brown nude that goes with pretty much any look. But when I am looking into getting a bold lipstick, <b>24</b> is no doubt my go to choice. It can act as a really dark red lipstick (if with a lip liner) or as a <i>purpleish</i> lipstick. None of these will bleed out during the day or feel uncomfortable. I am actually looking forward into getting a couple more shades! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And if anyone is wondering why there was such a long gap between posting, I want to let you know that it was due to a really stressful week at my Faculty. I was part of the reception of new Students and it was really stressful and at the same time grateful event. I am looking forward to share more content with you guys! </div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
September is here and with it all the comebacks: coming back to school, coming back to work and of course coming back to university. Another obvious comeback is the Autumn season. It is still really hot here, but I can already imagine myself drinking hot tea at night and getting comfy around my blankets.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
I can also imagine myself doing really warm brown looks (the typical Autumn look) and to go along it, of course there has to be blush! With that in mind I want to share 5 blushes that I believe are really good for this upcoming season.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixF7EldSxz3lOFsfQd2gTq7pK5HLX-zRIXDFl4Rx-dLPE9ybjF6pKCD_J6vVvNx8GIbpHjCsAxL721p4MQUB3rtqwyidDMTxvV8cW75mL_nAwcZ0EhPnus9rw7gDpr7pade0h4DBURVWJX/s1600/Autumn_Blushes_swatches.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="465" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixF7EldSxz3lOFsfQd2gTq7pK5HLX-zRIXDFl4Rx-dLPE9ybjF6pKCD_J6vVvNx8GIbpHjCsAxL721p4MQUB3rtqwyidDMTxvV8cW75mL_nAwcZ0EhPnus9rw7gDpr7pade0h4DBURVWJX/s1600/Autumn_Blushes_swatches.png" /></a></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">(from left to right : Clinique Cheek Pop blush in Plum Pop ; Bourjois Cream blush in 04; Benefit Rockateur; Nars Seduction; Nars Deep Throat )</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCPOpRaKOSqPUnEEaayTAcSZeWPJvWgAJ4NRV3O_z6uEBwUO9HCImQfqXZsQJrIbomCG-CYIsYc3PIo7GX5PVcqIvrj6Jq5hO2ppEUCZDbDwRWYKYMvWHcDSaUd3_bPo0jleuCUWk1P6md/s1600/Autumn_Blush_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="390" data-original-width="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCPOpRaKOSqPUnEEaayTAcSZeWPJvWgAJ4NRV3O_z6uEBwUO9HCImQfqXZsQJrIbomCG-CYIsYc3PIo7GX5PVcqIvrj6Jq5hO2ppEUCZDbDwRWYKYMvWHcDSaUd3_bPo0jleuCUWk1P6md/s1600/Autumn_Blush_3.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I believe I've talked a lot about my love for this blushes. For the Autumn season, I believe Plum Pop is going to be a really good pick, specially for when I want to give the illusion that I am being pinched by the cold - not that I want to be actually pinched by it, I don't really like extreme weather - or to break the brown of the look (for when I decide to do really warm eye looks alongside brown lipstick). I really love the formula of these blushes and they are perfect for any situation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Bourjois Cream Blush in 04</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't wear cream blush like I used to, but I can see myself going for this one after spending the Summer time going after one of these blushes in the morning when I did not want to wear too much makeup, I heavily imagine that the same will happen in Autumn - specially with the hectic schedule of University approaching. I also really love to wear this blush as a base for other blushes, like rockateur for example. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9SJINIFMVLjQC3s8VNgbwmLVmH8QopQfDzFXizx3Ezqm7REj0EzX1aXyHMlC5JKRy5oGZfZilESStsETptURqHapp3mMIl06UOcxI4usmSQQdY_NaYmy7efT05MWMcCu7rCPNvo2X74pP/s1600/Autumn_Blush_4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="507" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9SJINIFMVLjQC3s8VNgbwmLVmH8QopQfDzFXizx3Ezqm7REj0EzX1aXyHMlC5JKRy5oGZfZilESStsETptURqHapp3mMIl06UOcxI4usmSQQdY_NaYmy7efT05MWMcCu7rCPNvo2X74pP/s1600/Autumn_Blush_4.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Benefit Rockateur</span></h3>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of my favourite blushes, specially for when I don't know what blush to wear. It is a dusty rose blush with a brown undertone and it is perfect for both Autumn and Winter ( which is when I use it the most). It is my safe blush choice for more elaborate eye looks and for everyday work and University days! There's nothing like have a blush like this in your collection!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Nars Seduction</span></h3>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I got this on a giveaway a few years ago and it's still a thing. I only need a small pinch of it and I love to wear it now in the colder season because to me, it's when purples and deep berry tones look better. I love to pair this blush with a dark lip and a simple cat-eye look. Or with a purple eye-look and a nude lipstick. Either way, it is really long lasting and the only thing I don't really like ir NARS rubber (it just looks weird after some time!!? why!!??)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Nars Deep Throat </span></h3>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was on my wishlist for quite some time and last Christmas I got myself one of their crackers and this, alongside with barbara, came with me. I love how simple and classy this blush is. It's for the same situations as Rockateur, but while has a more brown undertone, this blush has more rose. I also like to see it as a more muted version of Orgasm - but less bright and less shimmery. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1qaadjG1daIht3aobHDhJ43TYcccIZFNoPIcCqm9hefRLVZBZI3eE_RdVe4Dn-xovjMlvBNi74O7oQ5hCAnjq4D6p2ukec57rnMwLeozoRD_n806VOA1DIm7z-BOohCstGJHyZY1MpUpz/s1600/Zoeva_Rose_gold_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="565" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1qaadjG1daIht3aobHDhJ43TYcccIZFNoPIcCqm9hefRLVZBZI3eE_RdVe4Dn-xovjMlvBNi74O7oQ5hCAnjq4D6p2ukec57rnMwLeozoRD_n806VOA1DIm7z-BOohCstGJHyZY1MpUpz/s1600/Zoeva_Rose_gold_3.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Back in the day, makeup brushes were one of the biggest investments any makeup artists or makeup love would do. Eventually more affordable brush companies started to appear and with that a few transitioned into cult-like status, gaining popularity and updating their standards.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
That's the clear case of Sigma Beauty and Zoeva(and recently Morphe). Both brands started as affordable brushes at an affordable price and as the hype grew both companies renew themselves into luxurious brands but with a more affordable price.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One can of course argue that both brands are still an investment and I agree. I got my two brush sets as an investment . <b>The question is: are makeup brushes worth the Splurge and investment?</b></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Personally, I do think so. Most of my brushes are either Zoeva or Real Techniques, and although I really love my Real Techinques brushes their rubber started to be weird with time - it is similar to Nars rubber! And that really leaves me sad because I really cherish all my brushes : both expensive and affordable. </div>

Only my Foundation brush has a stubborn spot that does not want to leave. Other than that they never shed and the handles look and feel amazing. The goes for the pouches as well. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In regards to my own question, I do believe that brushes are worth the investment. I am not saying that you should get ultra expensive brushes that you cannot pay. Thankfully are many brands that do high quality brushes without breaking anyone's bank. But if you can't do the investment right away, there are still really affordable brands with careful products like Ecotools and BH Cosmetics with makeup brushes so soft that can compete with high end brands without much problems. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am currently thinking about getting an affordable set for travelling (I am always afraid of losing my brushes) and because I love to have spare brushes for the really busy weeks when I cannot wash my brushes (hence why I have multiple foundation brushes!!). I am still not sure what I'll be getting, but I've been winking my eye over a BH rose gold brush set that would look pretty when placed side by side with my zoeva brushes. There a few points that I believe will help you access your situation:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<ul>
<li><b>How often do you do your makeup?</b> If it is on a daily basics I highly recommend to do the investment and splurge on a good set. It means that won't be having to buy a new set sooner than what you expect. In a long term that would become more expensive of buying a good brush set the very first time. </li>
<li><b>If you are planning of doing the investment, is it better to buy them one by one or in a set?</b> I'd say a set for sure. Yes, you might end up with two extra eyeshadow brushes, but n the end those two extra brushes might value a saving of 15 or more €/£/$ when compared to what you would spend when buying them separately. </li>
<li><b>Be patient and get hold onto those discount codes/weekends!</b> Nowadays stores and brands tend to do more discount seasons/special weekends than they used to. If you are looking into making an investment, waiting for a particular weekend to get that precious set might save you some coins. For example Beautybay held a 15% off event over 30£ purchases last weekend and Sephora in Europe is currently caring out Zoeva and (at least in Portugal), the brand isn't classified as a special exclusive like Becca or Nars, which means that I can use a 20% coupon code whenever they are having an "exclusive sale". </li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What do you think about investing in makeup brushes? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJzmGEQoFnAtFqXBUFZpM2bfCPh4Gl9E05B08ZeWvB_BoD1CNx1Go0D9U8P8e_BefuOZlrQ7axLgvO02izPSLXCf_WPS4U8WlpdThLOvetQ22IJuj9_0yBhNxO8B_Jn2Ol8zcfkfQlJNyb/s1600/September_goals_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="534" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJzmGEQoFnAtFqXBUFZpM2bfCPh4Gl9E05B08ZeWvB_BoD1CNx1Go0D9U8P8e_BefuOZlrQ7axLgvO02izPSLXCf_WPS4U8WlpdThLOvetQ22IJuj9_0yBhNxO8B_Jn2Ol8zcfkfQlJNyb/s1600/September_goals_3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another month, another goals I guess? I really enjoyed writing my August Goals last month so I'll be trying to do a post like this every month from now on!</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
This month's is going to be special since it is my birthday month (yaay!). I'll be turning 25 this year and I am more excited than what most would expect. My Goals this month are again simpler and mostly related to blog work and my inner self. I really want to keep up the good work (specially because I am super motivated!!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Learning that treating myself isn't a sin</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
September is my birthday month and I really want to get a few goodies for myself. I really wanted to get a few colourpop items but apparently that won't be possible since there's a new tariff around and it would get supeer expensive. I have been thinking about option but then I get guilty over it. The thing is, it is okay to treat myself and I need to learn it. It will be a process. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikxZkXDjZ14_5D_qSj1ZmvraTuvqcr0EhP5Z5yOKla60bj-wljVb2PuSC3_C6laf9ah_XaINuwHWst4MPDP1TpQJ8JepEHyTIS991nvskIAiQjrIkd9jkjaVDGL8gpfe5892gSCYzU9xOr/s1600/September_goals_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="403" data-original-width="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikxZkXDjZ14_5D_qSj1ZmvraTuvqcr0EhP5Z5yOKla60bj-wljVb2PuSC3_C6laf9ah_XaINuwHWst4MPDP1TpQJ8JepEHyTIS991nvskIAiQjrIkd9jkjaVDGL8gpfe5892gSCYzU9xOr/s1600/September_goals_2.png" /></a><span style="font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: center;">
Starting to organize what I want for this Academic year</div>
</span></h3>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
September is also the beginning of a new Academic year and I really want to get my things organized. This is going to be a really hard year but I know that I'll be able to do all that I need. Also, there's nothing like proving those who want our failure wrong, right?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am thinking about starting a bullet journal as part of my organisation process (although I am still not sure about this one because there are other planner options that I want to explore) and I've been watching doodling videos in order to get some ideas for spreads. Nothing like getting creative?</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Not stressing over small things</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a very important one. I have an horrible tendency to stress over small things and I cannot let that happen. Mistakes happen, bumps happen and things don't go like planned no matter how much I try. I guess I need to learn how to visualize that things will be okay and be more positive towards the future (I'm not a pessimist, but there are really bad days. Sadly). So I'll be back into meditation and listening to my trustworthy OST of Ori and the Blind Forest.<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Learning to leave my comfort zone</span></h3>
This one is specifically towards photography. I've been loving blog photography and I wanted to update my game in August as mentioned in my last Goals post. Although I really tried to work around it, I believe I haven't archived what I really wanted and my desired potential. I really want to work with backdrops and level up my game in terms of photography props (I've been trying to experiment!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Painting more again</span></h3>
I love to draw and paint. Sadly I am not able to do so as much as I would love to but I want stop crying about it. After watching Card Captor Sakura Clear Card I got the bug of art again. I want to paint watercolours and more illustrations. Maybe I could start sharing them here? The point is, I have a few small projects on hand and in my mind and the goal is to at least finish the month with a full illustration complete. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What are your goals for September? </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After some months without posting my favourites, this month here I am to share both my favourites and some monthly experiences! Next month I'll be back to University and I am already working on getting back into routines and other stuff.</div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">"Going Going on"</span></h3>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
August was the month I decided to finally start to watch <b>Card Captor Sakura Clear Card</b> with my best friend and it was a really interesting experience. I was a huge fan of Sakura when I was a really young and I've been waiting for the Summer to watch the new season. I now want to read the new manga and I am hoping that CLAMP won't be doing funny things. It was for sure one of the highlights of the month, alongside the fact that I was able to catch up with my best-friend during her vacation! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another series that really stood out to me in this month was <b>Voltron Legendary Defender</b> on Netflix!I'd seen tones of posts about it on Tumblr and I finally started to get on with it. I already watched the first season and I am in the midst of finishing the Second. I really like the animation and the plot (has anyone noticed how many Netflix series exist about Space? Or is it just me?)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcCyTI-U4dzrYo8OEAtexR-QVA4vfRcqGf76z83trZXrE59ZsoeSQkeXgg3s6ujIIn1N8mCat9DFq_DSyfmoKR1ocznc0Kca7maRPIyi-MTSR2ymQLAJgulY7jB1fBY6jhnJE4yY8cAa6D/s1600/AugustFavourites_2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="517" data-original-width="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcCyTI-U4dzrYo8OEAtexR-QVA4vfRcqGf76z83trZXrE59ZsoeSQkeXgg3s6ujIIn1N8mCat9DFq_DSyfmoKR1ocznc0Kca7maRPIyi-MTSR2ymQLAJgulY7jB1fBY6jhnJE4yY8cAa6D/s1600/AugustFavourites_2.png" /></a></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Empty Favourites </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Two of my favourites happen to be also empties. One of them already has a replacement in action, because although I really love the <b>Pixi Glow Tonic</b>, I'll only repurchase it by the end of year. Still, this deserves an award since it really helped my skin heal from a bad breakout (because vacations mean unhealthy choices, in this case dairy!). It deserves all the love and the spotlight. I'm also thinking about getting the Glow pads or the Rose Tonic (which seems like a perfect option for the morning time? I still need to research on that!)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On the other hand, my beloved <b>Skin Food Freshmade Watermelon Mask</b> was the saviour of my skin, specially with all the heatwaves going on and the breakout. I was using all kinds of clay masks and my skin can sometimes get stressed due to that. So I started to use an hydrating mask every time I would do a clay one and I cannot recommend this enough. If you happen to be too much time under the sun this mask is also amazing to help dealing with sunburns. I now turn between getting another one and either purchasing sheet masks from Innisfree or getting the Cranberry version of this mask. But I can see myself getting another pack of this for sure!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8elEINNQugS4HXNRL9RAbaKicL35E3-QEDaPv3NQd3oPSFn1P55Y1lCb4iAvI5zlFKiMIdxuLYC-Mfvev-e2xVhLWDcBlamEr4coAVHJ_jXkx8E7z8w5Z8-f-Nuq3xEuSnc5VdmvaQVNq/s1600/AugustFavourites_4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="888" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8elEINNQugS4HXNRL9RAbaKicL35E3-QEDaPv3NQd3oPSFn1P55Y1lCb4iAvI5zlFKiMIdxuLYC-Mfvev-e2xVhLWDcBlamEr4coAVHJ_jXkx8E7z8w5Z8-f-Nuq3xEuSnc5VdmvaQVNq/s1600/AugustFavourites_4.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The new everyday Favourites </span></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now there are also the everyday makeup favourites that need to be mentioned, specially since I haven't been doing monthly favourites in a while. A perfect example of that is my <b>Innisfree Skinny Waterproof mascara</b>! This mascara is so good that I ended up giving away the other I had that weren't perfect. You see, I have trouble with mascaras because I have sensitive eyes. This is the only mascara that isn't super heavy on my lashes and that I don't feel the need to rip off from eyes ASAP like before. It also does not budge for anything! I am currently thinking about getting a second Korean mascara and I might get another one from Innisfree. (But I've been researching for other mascaras from Korea like Etude House and Holika Holika, along side with Japanese options like Heroin Makeup - which is a favourite of Anna from <a href="https://www.theannaedit.com/" target="_blank">The Anna Edit</a>) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6ap6BC7QiMrjL9xpSA-nhNIDO-ErR1yYOrvm3wBMcYWDbI3XauqSdPirmbyWVT4SsSrX5V19jOhdL8j40mqTEJRmAEgQmsRnjC70SEu3ukvVBj7aR2q-J10yNqbLuqmM6e-kr_4CEELIM/s1600/AugustFavourites_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="455" data-original-width="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6ap6BC7QiMrjL9xpSA-nhNIDO-ErR1yYOrvm3wBMcYWDbI3XauqSdPirmbyWVT4SsSrX5V19jOhdL8j40mqTEJRmAEgQmsRnjC70SEu3ukvVBj7aR2q-J10yNqbLuqmM6e-kr_4CEELIM/s1600/AugustFavourites_3.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another favourite of this month is my <b>Too Faced Neutral Eye palette</b> ( which now has a different packaging. I won't be getting a new one until I hit pan on this one. This is a fairly new palette to me and is still in great condition). I really love the easy going neutral shades of this palette, specially when I don't feel like doing bright or more dark makeup like I usually do in the Autumn and Winter seasons. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other item I need to declare my profound love is the <b>Benefit Coralista Blush</b>. I mentioned it in my Coral blushes for the summer post, but he still deserves it's own post. I really love Benefit's blushes and concepts and this well...if I had to pick my first blush crush this would be the pick. I have been using it this month to compliment the warm of the season and to give that nice healthy glow. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another important product of the month that needs to be mentioned is my <b>Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer</b>, which is perfect for when I just want to swipe a neutral shade on my lid and blend it with a darker matte shade and I am good to go. I really love how soft and easy to use this brush is! I have been thinking about getting a third of this kind because I really can't get enough of it! If you are looking for an eye brush that can turn your life easy, this is the brush you need to get! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Base products are as much of a staple as lipstick. Personally, depending on the season and the weather my base makeup will change. During the summer time I tend to go for more powder-based and matte foundations, while I really love hydrating ones for the winter time. Today I'll be sharing my ultimate four base staples. </center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<a name='more'></a></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Although I feel like I should give the heads up that although these are the current ultimate four, this list might change in the Future since Fenty is about to be released at Sephora here and I am seriously contemplating getting their foundation alongside The Ordinary's foundations as well. Brace yourselves! More foundation reviews are coming! </center>

<span style="font-size: large;">
The one for Winter </span></center>
</h3>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">In the winter time I tend to love more hydrating foundations since the cold tends to be unfriendly, even for someone who tends to have really oily T-zone. Ultra-matte foundations don't feel good on me, since the sensation of tightness alongside the cold makes it somehow unbearable to use a matte foundation. My old Favourite for this season used to be Clinique's Even Better foundation ( still a very good foundation, don get me wrong!), but nowadays my choice is </span>Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation <span style="font-weight: normal;">, since it is super easy to apply and buff (perfect for busy mornings). I am thinking about getting a darker shade to work as my fast contour as well. Also the coverage this foundation has is amazing, making her also perfect for special events. </span></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></center>

<center style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
The Summer trust Companion </span></center>
</h3>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: normal; font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">During the Summer my choice is completely different. I tend to go for more light bases because I cannot see myself using heavy bases on my face - specially if they will eventually melt off. So my favourite foundation for this season - as I mentioned before - is the </span><b>Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation</b><b>,</b> since it is so easily to use and hold beautifully during the summer. I recently hit pan on this one and it made me feel sad because I really don't want to part ways with it. (I'll for sure get a backup soon)</center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></center>
<br />
<h3>
<center style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Ones that work all year around </span></center>
</h3>
<center style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly, there are products that I just can't get enough no matter the season. A classic case of that is the Soap and <b>Glory One Heck of a Blot powder</b>, since it is now a staple in my makeup collection. It is a really thin powder that works both in the Winter and Summer time. I can't see myself letting go of this product any time soon. The other product I've been loving and I know I will for sure love in the Winter is the <b>Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer</b>, since it's super easy to blend and buff and doesn't get into my fine lines or feel super dry and patchy. </center>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I guess today's post will be a bit different from the usual. I am no "blog expert" (as I am not popular enough to claim what it is best or not to get engagement). But I've read many thoughtful posts about the topic and today I want to discuss my take on one of them: Updating old blog posts.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first posts I updated from top to bottom were my reviews on <a href="https://randomlydi.blogspot.com/2015/06/zoeva-cocoa-blend-palette-review.html" target="_blank">Zoeva's Cocoa Blend Palette</a> and <a href="https://randomlydi.blogspot.com/2015/07/zoeva-rose-golden-palette-review.html" target="_blank">Rose Golden</a> palette. They were really old posts that had good views but that I felt a bit of discomfort over the time. You see, my blogging style changed a lot over the time and I couldn't handle having those posts looking like that. I also read multiple posts about how it is always a good idea to update old posts from time to time - specially because perspectives and facts change. For example I first wrote these two reviews, Maquillalia used to carry Zoeva on their shop. Recently they stopped doing so because the brand started to be sold at Sephora online (including in my country! And funny enough it does not have the same status as other exclusive brands like Huda Beauty or Nars) But most importantly, I had to update the swatches!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is something I did to other recent posts of mine. Initially I had not included swatches because I felt there was no need for it. But as time went by I did not felt the same and since I was updating older posts, I decided to take swatches for another 3 older posts and update them. Today I can say that I feel happy about that decision because no matter what, how I feel about my work is the most important. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This also taught me how it is important to put your best output into something the very first time. Because when things look like you want them first, you don't have to do them a second time. (although I have to admit that one of the things I love the most is taking photos and edit them) If something does not look just like what I want, I'll go again and do things properly. This happened recently with two upcoming posts. One I was able to turn around the situation and have what I wanted. But another I had to pause on it and re-do the photos in order for them to look like I want them to be.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nonetheless, I did these updated because this blog is a place I love. It is a small corner around the wide web, but it is mine and I like to keep it in place just like I want him to be. Next month I'm preparing myself to share some blogging mistakes I've done and what I learned from them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What do you think about updating old posts?</div>
