My September Favourites | 2018

9/25/2018

September was a crazy month! For starters I worked at my faculty because of the new students that were enrolling in their first-year of BA or MA. It was also my birthday month and other peculiar things got to happen. Nonetheless, there I am to share my beauty favourites of the month.
And for anyone wondering, a small haul is going to released between this and next week, mostly because I still need to take photos of everything - considering that there are other things I'll be placing order or getting later in my mail. The same goes for some photography props I want to get as soon as possible. But enough with my rambling!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

I got a new cleanser this month and I can't be more happy. My previous cleanser, Soap&Glory Hot Cloth cleanser was pretty much dying on me and although I've been hunting down Cerave's foam cleanser I ended up going for this one mostly due to the fact that it was on sale. It is indeed a very gentle cleanser that does not foam - although it has SLS in it's ingredient list, something I only found out later - and my skin does not feel super dry after using it. Being completely honest, it isn't my favourite cleanser but it does it's job and need recognition for that. But I can see myself getting the Cerave cleanser in a near future anyway. (specially because I want to get their moisturiser for the winter time and I am not going to get just that from the brand, right?)

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation

So out of nowhere...FENTY IS AVAILABLE IN PORTUGAL!! I know, I know...it was available in other countries and we could try to order some of the products online but I really wanted to go in-store and get my match and I am so glad I did because I would never guess that this was going to be it. It's the good thing of a inclusive range!!
I've seen some people, specially friends of mine, not really loving it but I only have positive things to say. You won't love it if you have dry skin, that's for sure, but I believe it can look really beautiful on the skin. Something I personally noticed is that the foundation looks completely different depending on what you use to apply it. With a dense brush like Sigma's F82 it's going to look super full-coverage and with a very "foundation look" to it. But with a wet sponge it changes the look into a more natura one.
I wore this to my birthday dinner and it hold beautifully throughout the whole event and it will be my go-to base for whenever I need a budge-proof foundation. I'll also be writing a very complete review about it as soon as possible!

Evoluderm Lotion Tonique Purifiante, au zinc & extrait de Thé vert

Before you think I am crazy, this is a purifying toner from a French skincare company known as Evoluderm and this toner contains both zinc and green tea extract. I was gifted this lovely toner by a lovely lady (who I can call friend!) from the Academic Services of my faculty and I am so thankful and blessed! To be quite honest, until I was gifted this I had never heard about this brand before but now I am super curious about other products they might have!
It's super gentle to my skin and does not contain alcohol (although it contains perfume! something people should be careful  about) and I love to wear this in the mornings and after a really deep cleansing mask (because my skin never loves the idea of acid toning after that). It's going to easily become a all time favourite!

Revlon Professional Uniq One Coconut Hair Treatment

That lovely lady also gifted me with this travel-size hair treatment and I have been using it after washing my hair and I'll for sure get myself a full-size ASAP! It has an amazing Coconut scent (which I love!!!) and it helps with moisturising and caring my hair. My hair has been not really happy with the super hot weather, getting a bit of a frizz and this has been a miracle for that.

Sleek Makeup Face Contour in Medium

You are probably wondering why the hell I am raving about a contour kit in medium when it will for sure look strange on my skin tone...and that's the thing: it doesn't! The trick is to have a really light hand with the pan and blend it all out - which is easy to do since the formula is really good! With the Autumn and Winter approaching I'll be using this as a eyeshadow duo as well. Mostly because that gold highlighter looks nice in my cheeks and even better as an eyeshadow on my lids.
This was also kindly gifted by the lovely lady (I feel so blessed!!!)

What have you been loving in September? Are you excited for October?

  7. That fenty beauty foundation is on the top of my wish list! I worry it may be difficult to work with as I have dehydrated skin with an oily t-zone but I know I need more long wearing foundations as we are heading into Summer over here. x

    1. If you have dehydrated skin my recommendation is that you work on your base skin care before worrying about the foundation. I also have dehydrated skin with an oily T-zone and a good prepared skin will help you with this and any other foundation - specially in the summer!

I also recommend you to work with a nice setting spray and a mist that might give you an extra boost into your skin!

      Take care!!

    1. Yees! I am sure that Rihanna will for sure take care of that, I mean she launched a 40 range shade because she wanted to be inclusive. I am sure that she'll want the same for those with dry skin as well!! (I'd want a cream/liquid concealer from her as well!!)

Thank you for the lovely comment! Take care!

  10. Amazing post! Fenty foundation is my favourite, I was surprised that the lightest shade is available in Europe, it saves me all the time since most of the foundations I tried go orange with time.

    1. Yees! They brought the 40 shades to Europe, which in my opinion is amazing because everyone - no matter their skin shade - should be able to find a foundation that isn't too orange or too unreal for them! I hope more brands get to do this more often in the future!
