New acquisitions

7/28/2017

Guess who is finally trying to get some blog work done? I am currently on vacation but I thought this would be the perfect timing to work around a few posts. With that in mind, I'll be sharing a few things I've got during the last couple of months. A few of these ( specially what concerns skin care) are replacements of things that had previously run out or thought it was time to switch. I also had to grab sun protection since the summer time kicked with full force (and still I wasn't able of saving myself from getting a sunburn on my shoulders....)
As for the make up, the only really expandable thing here are the lip stains (aka matte liquid lipsticks) because I was really in need of the rest. Except the highlighters but those were a gift to myself for surviving my degree without getting insane. (hurray!)

The Current Morning Skin Care Routine

9/20/2014

Hiii! I know, I should had a post online already..I should. Anyway, I got a few minutes to spare and decided to post the current morning routine. Let's highlight the word current because I'll probably do a few changes during the next month - but don't worry, I'll update you then.

So, my morning skin care is really simple - cleansing, moisture and SPF. And eye cream. Nothing more (for now).

Cleansing - Micelar Water from Garnier
It's what I'm currently using because it's gentle. In the morning I don't need anything too strong or powerful because I'm only talking the sweat and traces of the products I had placed on my face the night before. An oil would be too much so I go for this instead.

Moisture - La Roche-Posay Hydreane Legere

After cleansing, moisture. I like simple moisturizers that don't contain any mineral oil, otherwise I'll end up with my skin even oilier and dehydrated. This one is really simple and leaves my skin in a good mood. It's been a favourite for over a year already.

Eye Care - Bioderma Sensibio Eye Gel
My under eye are is quite dry so, before concealer an eye treatment is a must do. I like this one specially for the day time because it sinks really fast and it's super comfortable. My eyes also look less purple - I'll probably keep buying this as my day time treatment.

SPF/Sun Block - La roche-Posau Anthelios SPF50+  UVB+UVA
Sun Block is something I wear when it's really sunny and I'm out. Before anyone get super scandalized : with college, most of my time is spent in class rooms, school hallways and metro stations. It's also been raining here so...But when there's sun and spend a lot of time out - OH YEAH. I like this one because it's really light weight, sinks in and doesn't look greasy at all. Perfect.

So, here's my skin care for the day time. I'll try to post the night time one during next week. (I know, this one was a really small post...sorry!)
Take care everyone, have a nice day!

With Love,
Diana.

August Favourites '14

9/02/2014

Hi September. Hi Busy life.

August was an interesting month. Most of my time was passed preparing my trips, spending time with a friend that I'll only see again in December, spending time with other friends and getting my skin burn for the first time - It happens when you go on vacation with people that don't share the "sun damages your skin" philosophy. But nevermind, it was good.
September is always an interesting month for me. First, it's my birthday month and second, I'll start college in two weeks. I'll probably stop with the Chinese for a year so I can manage college without getting all "oh my god I don't have time for anything". I still want to get more years and knowlege of the language don't worry, but I need a temporary break. Also, I'll have to work my ass off for that part-time job. I haven't spoken with the person that runs it (mostly because they are on vacations now) but I really want to try my best. You knows, it might be a really goo experience.
Another highlight of the month was founding Orphan Black and watching Sailor Moon. Seriously, Orphan Black is amazing! I'm a huge fan of Sci-fi but I wasn't expecting something like this. I like how there's always actions, the character personality and amazing funny moments where you wouldn't expect them. I can't wait for March - I'm actually more excited for Orphan Black than for Games of Thrones at this point. Cutting characters like that wasn't cool along side with Maisie Williams calling the readers snobs . If it wasn't for these snobs there wouldn't a be a show you know. (I'm sorry for the rant). Sailor Moon has been fun to - the wrong perspective on Rei's eyes was something off but so far I'm loving it. And no, they aren't skinnier, open the manga, watch Sailor Moon Stars and you'll see that the 90's version totally mess up the proportion Naoko had. (sorry for the second rant).
As for music ( I should be talking about make up at this point shouldn't I ? don't worry, this is my last random paragraph) F(x)'s Red Light has now got a spot in my playlist - I won't comment the whole Sulli drama...let's say that at this point they should just be 4 and end the story - and the concept was amazing. F(x) should finally get a Fandom name, colour an more attention from SM. Next, Orange Caramel's My Copycat is the most funnier and clever MV I ever Saw. I hooked to the song because of that. Well done Pledis. Oh and have you seen Super Junior's Comeback? IT'S FREAKING AMAZING! Siwon looks a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo por some reason (no seriously, it reminds me a lot ) and that video was brilliant. Along with the song and the rap was spot on with a funny ending (I mean. "just close your lips, shut your tongue" ...SM Simon has offered himself to work on your English lines you know? You could also ask Tiffany's or Jessica's to help you). And lastly but not least, because of an Arrow commercial I'm now also hooked to OneRepublic's Counting Stars - 'cause "Everything that kills me, makes me feel alive" and "Everything that downs me...makes me wanna fly".  Still, a great song.

Now let's talk about make up and beauty-related things.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
I should have this with me sooner! I got it recently mainly because both of my Bourjois concealers can't be used in my under eye are because of bacteria contamination. So I had to get something moisturising enough and comfortable that wouldn't create too much fuzz. I got this one and I'm pretty happy. It does it's job without problems, bights up my eyes and doesn't crease on me. I still want to try the more expensive version like 3CE concealer or the Nars Creamy Concealer, but I've found my drugstore holly grail version for sure - although this might change, since I want to try the Collection Last Imperfection concealer.

Fenistil Gel
So like I mentioned, I got a sun burn - in my back and legs. Not good I know...and the worst part? I wasn't in the sun that much. One hour because they wanted me to get a dive...Next time I'll keep myself under the umbrella no matter what.
Anyway, because my skin got inflamed I had to treat with something cooling, moisturising and that would treat. This is a gel that we can get here at any pharmacy or store that sell non-prescription medicines and it was pure perfection. I don't have my skin red any more (just peeling off...I'll have to double scrub, moisturise and protect now). It's also good for when I get allergies or bug bites (I live in a urban area with lots of green space around so, there are lots of trees and plants around here along with insects an other kind of animals). So yes, it deserves a spot.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+ UVB+UVA
Finally I this baby in my life. I was searching for a nice SPF and after watching Ruth's and Caroline's recomendation I decided to get it. It's just amazing - super light-weight, doesn't break me out, doesn't mess my make up and really protects my skin! Because guess what, where I placed this SPF instead of the one that my aunt had I didn't get a sun burn! So yes, it's aproved and althought I want to say some Asian Sun Blocks, I'll keep gravitating around this. I might do a proper review later.

Nars Orgasm and Laguna Duo
This is amaziiiiiiiiiiiing! (if I sound like Anna from Frozen, I'm sorry...or not)I'll be reviewing this later this week but I'll be strait up : I love this. It's perfect to me.
The blush shade is amazing for the pretty natural flush and the bronzer looks so natural. My contour looks a lot better when I do it with this onee. Oh yes Shayne, you have another in the OrgasmAndLAgunaClub.

Too Faced La Crème Lipsticks - In the Buff and Cinnamon Kiss
Meet the only things I got during this years sales. I rushed to sephora and I got the most prettier colours (they also had a red and a fuchsia shade...but I wanted something nice for school). I think these got discontinued but I think that Too Faced should re-promote them again. They are too pretty. And comfortable.
In the Buff is a really pretty nude - different from the one I have from Rimmel. This one has a hint of brown and less pink in it. I guess since we are getting into the 90's trend again a good " Celine Dion" nude colour will look nice (I would wear it anyway).
Cinnamon kiss is a lipstick that's between the "my lips but better" and a nice more deep shade. The only thing I know is that my face looks always a lot brighter and healthier when I use this. I'll probably rock this baby as much as Viva Glam Rihanna from MAC.

Here are my favourites. I'm sorry for the long into and the side notes and rants. I promise that I'll stop them if you don't like them.
Take care everyone, have a nice day!
With Love,
Diana.

Mostly, backups

5/21/2014

Yes, I'm still figuring out how to deal with light...because I have less natural light (and because it was raining all day long...Winter is coming earlier or something? ) I had to use artificial lighting and editing skills. Personally...I like it. could be better, but I try to work it in the future. I really wanted to know your opinion...
So, because of the huge collection of empties, I had to get backups / new replacements (and I got a few new items along the way...)
Starting with Garnier, I got their new Skin Naturals Micelar Water mostly because the pharmacy/drugstore I went didn't had Bioderma and I had heard good things about this one. So far I like it - it cleans well, leaves a moisture feeling...but has a funny smell. (I'll be sure to do a proper review during the next week). Also from Garnier, I got the Skin Naturals 2 in 1 Make Up Remover mostly for those days were I get home earlier and I want to remove my make up a few hours before doing a proper cleanser. From La Roche-Posay I got the Hydreane Legere which is my holly grail moisturiser and the new Hydreane Extra Riche which was meant to be my future night moisturiser. I'll have to pass him on that and get the Hydreane Riche and I'll explain why I won't be using the Extra Riche as my night cream in triple review and comparison.
From Bourjois, I saw that the local supermarket had received a stock of their CC Cream collection and had the lightest shade so grabbed their CC Cream it along with their CC Eye Cream in their lightest shade as well.(Review will be posted during the next week as well). And because I really needed something that would make my nail polish dry faster, I decided to get a bottle of their Instant Dry nail drops. I haven't tested it yet because I was on a "no nail polish week".
Lastly but not least, The Body Shop has a 3 items - 30% off promotion and since I needed a new toner and new cleanser I decided to take the opportunity. I got their Aloe Toner since it's recommended by Caroline Hyrons - it purifies the skin, doesn't contain any alcohol and prepares my skin for my night creams. Because I needed a third item but didn't wanted to spend too much money on it, I choose their Seaweed Clay Mask (unitary version)because cleanses and purifies my skin, leaving a spa feel. I really wanted to get the full-size but it's quite expensive...who know If I don't snatch it on another 50% item sale. And finally, the amazing Camomile Cleansing Oil - a very luxurious cleanser that removes every trace of make up and dirt while not over striping my face.

So, what do you think about these photos?
Oh and don't get scared, but I'll be doing a complementary haul later since I need to get Hydreane Riche and a backup of my beloved Effaclar Duo. Oh...and apparently Essie is now available at major supermarkets here as well (I won't go crazy, but I really wanted a nice pink and a nice nude shade...and a cuticle oil)
I promise that I'll try to keep the blog updated. Take care, have a nice day!

With Love,
Diana.

Cream Shadow Edit #1

3/21/2014

Cream eyeshadows are a staple for me. I already have a few from different brands and I want to keep adding a few to my collection. But that doesn't mean that I can talk about the ones that I already own right?
Here I have my favourite ones, the nice ones and the not-so-nice ones. I also want to state that this is my personal opinion. I know that a few of you will be quite shocked about the opinion I'll give about two cream shadows that are present here.

The Favourites

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Probably one of my oldest cream shadows. It's still rocking pretty nicely. The consistency is still creamy, glides and blends beautifully and it's super pigmented - cover s my discolouration and veins. It doesn't melt that much, although it needs a bit of help during the warmer seasons. During the winter time it's what saves my eye looks. If I ever see the bottom of the jar I'll run to next MAC corner to get backup. Yes, it's a bit expensive but it's totally worth it.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit
I'll blame this one on Kate from Gh0stparties. It's just the most gorgeous all-over the lead colour. I have to admit that I haven't give much love to this baby - because I've been testing out palettes and everything - but it's so lovely. It doesn't crease and it's super creamy. I'm thinking about buying a few more of these later with time. Just like the MAC ones, they are totally worth the price.

The Nice Ones

Bourjois Color Edition 24H in 02 Or désir
I got these as a Try out. I had heard not so nice things about these but...I really wanted to get my own experience and opinion. So, they aren't the best. For instants they aren't that pigmented, you'll need to build the colour a bit if you want the exact same thing you want in the pot. It's nice a base colour for a nice smokey look but I wouldn't wear this without a primer because it will melt without any question. What makes this is the fact that it can be worked with a primer and it's easy to blend. Price wise, isn't the most expensive but it's not the most affordable either.

Catrice Made to Stay Longlasting Eyeshadow in 040 Lord of The Blings
I've talked about this before. It's still amazing and my heart is broken because apparently Catrice discontinued them - Shame on You Catrice, Shame on You! . They are smoth, the colour pay off is beautiful and doesn't crease that much. My only and big complain is the packaging because it's a bit too tiny for my taste.

Catrice Made to Stay Longlasting Eyeshadow in 080 Copper&Gabbana
Probably my favourite in therms of colour. I really want to get a high-end version of this colour. It's just so pretty. In therms of texture and opinion, it's applied the same that I mentioned to it's sister.

 The Not-that-Nice ones

Maybelline Color Tattoo in 20 Turquoise Forever
You guys are probably like "what in the world is she thinking?" So...I got this one when they were released here. I feel in love with the colour because I wanted something to add a tinny bit of colour during the summer time. But it's impossible. The pigmentation of this one is horrible and it's a nightmare to work with! It just doesn't want to look right. Arg! How bad.  I think that we got really unlucky because apparently these are a different version from the ones that are sold in the States, UK and Philippines (the packaging at least is quite different) . So yes, they it's a not-that-nice cream shadow.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in 05 Eternal Gold
I got this one because I thought that maybe...maybe Turquoise was the only bad shadow...I was wrong. The pigmentation is okay, when you finally are able to work with it. It's really had and difficult to blend. It also creases like there is no Tomorrow.
I've been keeping these in my collection because I wanted to mention what I think about them. I'm not sure if they'll stay once I move my make up into my final Storage.

Anyway, I hope that you likes this post and if you have any recommendation, feel free to leave it.
Take care everyone! Have a nice day!

With Love,
Diana.
