Two concealers I love more than Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

8/14/2018

I have to admit, I was a bit scared of writing this post, mostly because I feel that this might come across as a unpopular opinion. But after trying to feel what everyone was feeling, I had to give in and admit that the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer might not work with me like it works for other people.

How I feel about Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

You are probably thinking that I hate this concealer to death. I don't. My problem is that everyone seems to rave about how it is perfect for the under eye area and I find it dreadful drying for that purpose! I mean seriously, I can't wear it on that area without finding my eyes getting dry and having concealer sitting on my lines.
I mean, it really stays in place for hours, but it does not leave for the "radiant creamy" that it has on its name. It is kinda difficult to spread and tap into my skin and does not look radiant. At all!!
I believe it works better as a spot concealer and that's it. It covers them beautifully without "calling" attention to them. I also really like the packaging (I love doe-foot applicators over other applicators like the sponge in Maybelline's concealer). And yes, I went for the travel version first because I somehow wasn't sure if this was going to be a good investment. And I am glad I did it because it would have been a waste getting the full-size.

The ones that really stood to me

On the other hand there were to drugstore and budget friendly concealers that really stood up when compared to Nars'. The first is the Revolution Concealer&Define Concealer, which took the crown ever since I got it in June. The tip of this concealer is larger than the norm - similar to Tarte's shape tape - but the formular is way creamier than Nars and does not sit weirdly in my fine lines. It isn't drying at all and I can work with it both on my under eye and face without many issues. (I've been thinking about getting a darker shade to work as my contour for a while)
The other concealer that I really love is the Catrice Liquid Camouflage. It has amazing coverage and again it isn't drying on my under eye and can be buffed out without any problems. The only bad thing I have to point out is their shade range, since they only have two shades and as you can see one has a light pink undertone (which is nice to cancel dark circles on my skin tone) and a more orage shade that I tend to go to during the summer time. Either way, it cannot compare to the 18 shade range that Revolution has for example.

I am surely on the hunt for more concealers. On the high end spectrum I really want to see if the hype over the Naked Skin Concealer and the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer is a true one or if it will be a miss like Nars.(I might get a travel version just like I did for this one) I also want to try Nabla's and I've heard really positive notes over the Colourpop concealer as well.

Have you tried any of these concealers? What are your thoughts?

  4. I have to admit - the Nars doesn't do it so much for me these days! For some reason everyone seems to love the MUR but it just doesn't work for me :( I'm currently using Shape Tape

    1. I guess products can't work with everybody? Personally I never tried Shape Tape (they now ship to Portugal but the shipping is more expensive than the concealer). I've been thinking about testing out Nabla's version. (who sins for the lack os shades)

I really can't work with Nars. I tried to use it on a very hot day and it didn't end well. (still sad about it)

  6. I agree, sometimes drugstore makeup products can be as good ( or even better, in some cases) as high end makeup brands.
