The 2014 Skin Care Favourites

So yes, the year is ending and instead of making a monthly favourites - specially because there isn't really anything in particular to love since I was too busy with school to ever think about makeup or anything like that - I decided to do something like Sleep and Water and write my Skin Care favourites of the year instead.
There are some items missing mostly because they are already emptied out - like my The Body Shop Cleansing oil - so they aren't mentioned here. I also won't be talking about the Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil Light because I'll be doing a review after the 2014 favourites posts.
Next year some favourites will probably be the same, new things will be added. After all, New Year is all about change right?

The Garnier Micelar Water was a budget-friendly purchase. As you can see, I still have like half a bottle to use. Yes, I'll probably get my beloved Bioderma when this finishes but, I know that I count on this one too without any problems whatsoever. So yes, it deserves a spot here.
Mizon Hyaluronic Acid Serum was a good surprise and I can't be happier with it. I'm actually thinking about getting a backup because I can't live without it anymore. As you all know, I have dehydrated skin so, keeping moisture and water is what I want the most - specially because it helps with my terrible spots, marks and oily T-zone. This bad boy is a great alternative to very known things like the Indeed Labs Hydraluron (which is quite expensive and harder to get). And yes, I still want to try out their AHA serum - which is currently out of stock at Jolse.com ...and apparently there's also a AHA toner but...it costs like 87 euros on ebay? Crazy...

As for moisturizers, the La Roche Posay Hydreane Light and the La Roche Posay Hydreane Riche were my all time favourites. They don't contain any funky or stupid ingredients - I'm looking at you mineral oil - and my skin looks so soft and pretty after using them. The light version is used during the day and the riche version is for the night time. I might test and try out other night creams but I know that the rich version is a safe option. And no, I'm not thinking about changing my daily moisturizer.
The La Roche-Posay Effaclar duo + is another staple in my routine. It's something that I can count on to take care of my skin issues without too much fuzz. Doesn't irritate my skin at all and the new formula is nothing but sweet (not actually sweet, I don't really eat products you know...).

It's sad I know, but hopefully it will be better during the second semester.
So here are my Skin Care favourites. What do you think about this new set up? I have to say that I like it even more than the traditional white board thing I used.

Yes, Yes, I know. Another Haul? Don't get mad...Like I said on my previous Haul, I had a few things to get because the current ones where either gone or running out...Oh and don't worry, there will be another Haul coming because I'm still looking for a Concealer and I have to get two new skin care items (You'll understand why in a minute...OTL).
Bioderma Sensibio Eye Gel
My Current Eye gel is on the verge of ending. I have like...a week of use? So I really needed a new one (even knowing that I got sample from another eye cream, which I'll be saving for a special occasion) an I had seen really good reviews about him. Let's see how he works.
Benefit They're Real Mascara
This is a Backup, I got it now mainly because of Sephora's 20% off offer. My 2 Drugstore mascaras are getting pretty dry and the Too Faced Mascara that I own is a complete mess...which would left me with a sample size of They're Real. I won't buying many mascaras (ok, I'm thinking about 2 Korean ones, but I'm still working on getting Kollectionk's 10$ coupon) in the next months so I think I made a nice purchase.
Benefit Big Easy Foundation/BB Cream
Remember the Recommendation post? I ended up getting this one because of the discount. My current foundation is ending (and sometimes the scent doesn't look the same, scary!) so, I had to get one ASAP. I've tried out twice and looks nice. It has a light coverage, but can be build and it's really light on the Skin. I still need to try it out a little more before writing any review.
Avène Clenance Mask
I've heard amazing reviews about this mask and I'me super curious to try it. Aparently it helps out skin by doing some chemical exfoliation with AHA/BHA complex. Yes, it wasn't the most affordable mask, but if it helps my skin during the SOS times, it will worth every peny. (and yes, I'm looking after a substitute to my current clay mask)
Lierac Démaquille Purete
This....Why me? I got this by impulse and I did a huge mistake. First I thought that this was an oil - it's a gel. Second, IT CONTAINS MINERAL OIL (bloody hell) . The price tag was on top of the bastard's ingredient name. I tried this and...I hate it. No, it's not good. My skin felt super horribly dried and twitching. I didn't wanted to do it so soon but, I'll have to get a Balm and a Oil Cleanser (probably from Innisfree) along with the concealers. I'm also thinking about doing a "I regret buying" post because of this products (and Avène's foaming cleanser as well. What a bad luck...two bad cleansers in a row!)
L'Oréal Ever Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner
This is part of their "Sulphate-free" range but I'm not sure if it's really sulphate-free (Let's see if it Foams or not...). I recently finished a bottle of conditioner and I'm the verge for finishing another of Shampoo so I had to get these. I'm crossing fingers here...I thought about getting The Body Shop's range but went for this because of the raves. No, I don't need another two products for my regret post.
So yeah...here it is. I'm so mad about the cleanser/make up remover thing.I'm just crossing my fingers that the TBS cleanser doesn't finish until I get the ones. My skill will cry in despair T__T

My 2013 Skin and Hair Care Picks

Finally I'm able to share this!With no further due, here are my Skin and Hair Care 2013 picks.
From La Roche-Posay, both the Effaclar Duo and the Hydreane Legere had to be mentioned. The first is a treatment gel, which helped me a lot with Clog Pores and Acne Scars. The Second is the best moisturiser I ever use, since it's water-base, doesn't have any oil and leaves my skin smooth and hydrated.
Next, Lierac Dioptigel survived his big test during the winter time. I usually get my under eyes really dry during this time - with my skin cracking and hurting a lot..not good at all - but this gel totally stops that.My under eyes look good and less dark! I'll probably repurchase this during 2014! (Although I want to try out one from Bioderma)
The Body Shop's Tea Tree Scrub was a really good surprise. I was really disappointed with their old formula, but this new one is just perfect. I only need a really small bit of this for my face, doesn't irritate my skin or anything. Although I wanted to try something else, I'll probably stick with his one for a while.
For my hair, I discovered from TRESemmé their Heat Protector Spray and their Ends Repair Cream. I always blow-dry my hair (specially during the winter time) and I want to protect my hair. As for my ends...they always get quite dry, but this is helping me with that and as a plus, helps me a lot with de-tangling my hair.
Next, the Avène Thermal Water was a Summer saviour! Specially during the really hot nights - I would refresh my face with this, which would make me be able to have some proper sleeping. And during the day it would help with some extra hydration.
The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm is a recent discovery, I got it with 50% during a promotion and I'm really glad for that. This takes all of my make up - specially waterproof mascara and eyeliner - without problems. Also, a little pea-size is what I, which means that this will last a lot.
On the other had, Bioderma's Cleansing Water is another great favourite. When I'm not using the cleansing balm, I'm using this bad boy. It removes make up residues and doesn't cause any breakouts or anything like that.
Balea's Hand Cream was a gift from a German friend and I'm so happy for getting this. The smell is amazing and it's the perfect hand cream, since it isn't greasy at all and absorbs really fast.
Lastly but not least, my beloved Tangle Teezer. Why didn't I got this earlier? This is the best hair-Brush I every tried out. Doesn't break my hair and de-tangles my hair without paint. I'm actually thinking about offering one to my cousin.

Some Love for Skin Care

I'm sorry for taking so much to right a new post.
Things have been crazy around the house. From the fact that we will have some working around the house (the attic will be turn into two bedrooms for me and my brother and will be made a bathroom for both of us), my grandmother's health appointments, my dad's wife health exams, picking up my grandfather from his massage sessions (because he has problems of bad blood circulation and other problems on his legs) to the really depressing raining weather...there has been no time or zen time to post here. I haven't yet photograph my September favourites and working on some other makeup posts. I also want to mention that I might post even less in October. With the working around the house and school starting next week (I'll be taking Chinese classes this year!), I really want to focus. And there is the possibility of getting a part-time job (which is really nice actually. Having my own money and some independence is something delightful!).
Now, about today's post. I decided to talk about some of my recent Skin care discoveries that are now favourites and staple products on my routine. I want to tell who are them, how I apply them and why I love them so much. Like review them, but not with major detail so to speak.
Starting with two The Body Shop products. The facial scrub is amazing. At least this new and improved version. It looks like a gel, but as soon as we spread the product into our face and massage it, we can feel the scrubbing power. My skin has been healthier now, since I now, can remove dead skin cells properly. The old version was a complete rubbish. It would scrub a thing. I guess that's why they revamp this one. I use it like...every tow to three days at the nigh time after taking my makeup and cleansing my face. I'll repurchase this for sure!
The Tree oil is another wonder product. I finally was able to get this year. This baby kills bacteria and kicks breakouts like no other. I don't have to many, but when I have, 2 to 3 days with this and they are gone. Although I have to admit that recently I changed the way I use this. I mean, it's supposed to be used as a spot treatment, but recently I use it every night. Three or Four drops onto my hand and I rub it all over my face. I've seen improvements after using the product like this.It helped smooth my face from the small clogged pores and future breakouts.
I finally found what I can call the perfect moisturiser! Besides the fact that I have oily skin, I also have really dehydrated skin. Basically, if my skin isn't properly hydrated, it will produce more oil. But the main problem is, most moisturises contain oil and don't hydrate at all. They just pretend that they do it. Bur randomly I found and tried this one (the tube you are currently watching is my second one actually) and it change everything. Hydreane legere is the best moisturiser I ever used. It doesn't contain any oil. Actually, the main ingredient is Thermal Water. I use it everyday after washing my face in the morning. I won't be looking into a new moisturiser for the day time any soon.
To finish off, my beloved eye cream (actually it's a gel!) DioptiGel from Lierac won't be leaving my routine any time soon. I use it every night and sometimes in the morning before applying concealer under my eyes. It's non-greasy and my skin absorbs it really easily. I have a bit of curiosity around other eye creams, but now this a all time favourite.
At last- but not least - we have my beloved Effaclar Duo. You check my review about it here. I love it because it wonderful with my spots and acne scars. I use it every night after applying my Toner and Tea Tree Oil.

August Beauty Favourites

Hello dears!
Finally I'm able to write this post! I planned to write it and post it yesterday but y photos didn't look good, so I decided that it was best re-shoot everything and write today.
I want to say that my inspiration for the display and background of today post goes to Sleep and Water (one of my favourite blogger's). I wanted to take photos on my grandmother dining table but that didn't went very well because of the lighting...Anyway, I was able to photograph everything I wanted.
An overview of everything. Two Skin Care products, a kit from Benefit, a blush from Nars and my favourite eye Brush from Argent Makeup.
Starting with Lierac's Dioptigel, it's my first eye cream (or should I say gel?) and it's amazing. I only need to use a real tiny....really tiny bit of this product. I feel that my under eye circles are less purple and ugly after using this. Nice one Lierac!
Then of course, my beloved Efflacar Duo! I couldn't let him out of this post. It makes wonders. I had a huge problem with acne scares and now they area all fading away because of this bad boy. (P.S. This is the French version, which means I can use it everyday without any problems!)

Nars Outlaw is something everyone should have! What an amazing pink blush. super pigmented (which means that I need a really light hand when I'm working with it) and super long lasting! Yes, it's a bit expensive of some people (me included) but the quality is worth it! I still have to find a blush that lasts as much as this and that is as pigmented as this one!
The little brush you see here sis Argent Makeuo's 201. It's a blending brush and O-M-G. It's amazing! If you have small eyelids you should check it. This brush actually blends the colours instead of rubbing everything like some super huge brushes do. And because it's made with synthetic fibbers, not only is animal friendly, it's also super soft! And the Pink helps a little bit as well!

The LipGloss is really good, not sticky at all. The mascara...another piece of Heaven.
I don't have swatches of anything because I want to review everything separately.

Skin Care Haul

Hello dears!
Today I'll be showing you a little skin care haul I did this week. Some of my favorite products were getting used up and I need to get new ones. And I also I was able to take advantage of some promotions.
This Monday I went to Colombo - one of the biggest mall's in Portugal - with a dear friend of mine to catch one each other and to see how sales where and next season's collections After walking around, our last stop was on The Body Shop. They had a buy 3-pay 2 promotion which I thought it was wonderful! I needed a new bottle of Tonic - because this is my favorite tonic after all and a new bottle of Tea Tree's Oil. Because of the promotion, I end up also buying (or free) the new Tea Tree Face Scrub (I'm praying that this one get's to be better than the old version). I really want to go there again and get more things with this promotion, specially the Honey Bronze Bronzer and their new Makeup removers!!
On Tuesday I went to Continente (which is a big supermarket chain, they sell food and a bit of everything) and I went to their pharmacy department (also known as Well's) and I stock up myself on my favourite moisturizer - Hydreane Legere from La Roche-Posay. It's funny, I bought the first one by mistake. I was getting a nice moisturizer for my brother because he had lost his (he has super dry skin) and when I got home he had found his and they didn't match. I end up trying out to see if it was nice and...God! It was amazing. I have Oily Skin but, my skin is also dehydrated, so if I hydrate it, it won't produce more oil. Now I was running out and I needed to get it. Also, because La Roche-Posay is celebrating their 100 year anniversary, it came with a mini bottle of thermal water (amazing for having on my bag) and a mini Hydreane BB Cream.
Next, I got an eye cream from Lierac. I never tried out eye creams (yeah, shame on me), but I decided that my eyes also needed to be taken care of. I saw some really good review on Lierac's eye creams, so I got Dioptigel, which helps with my puffy eyes.
At last, but not least - also from Well's I got another tube of Effaclar Duo from La Roche-Posay. This product is amazing. I seriously can't live without it. This is my second tube and I'm predicting that I won't leave this product out of my routine anytime soon.
For last, from Continente's I got a Clay and Lavender Face Mask from Le Petit Olivier. It's a really nice face mask and again, it's my second tube of this. Although, I want to get my hands on their regular clay version and on their clay + tea tree version.
